Trevor....Great Race But This Bud's Not for You

Twenty year old Trevor Bayne won the Daytona 500 today....he is 364 days away from being able to celebrate as an adult...although I am sure if he wants a beer, he will get one. While alcohol is not the be all and end all of life, there are so many adults denied this social custom and forced to do it in secret. Whenever I talk to a 19 year old GI back from Afghanistan or a person supporting themselves and already raising a family, or someone away from home at college...I think its time to set the age of majority at 18 for everything.

I gotta hand it to ya, Jeff. That "Child Wins the Daytona 500" headline really is funny. Its an issue the hoity toi wish would go away. Here's your gun, little kid, now go kill somebody. But don't you dare go in that place with the neon lights.

Can they use this kid for beer commercials? This will have big implications for the evil brew industry.

Care to offer an opinion how all the "children" being arrested for DWI are getting served?

If there are people under 21 drinking it is likely friends or parents providing the product through legal purchase.
If you are implying vendors are not enforcing the law, that's not the case.

Remember when it changed, Keg Parties in Canton, everywhere, Didn't Gentleman Jim introduce a bill changing the drinking age at the behest of the college presidents?

Even if you dress it up....There should be no reason one of these kids coming back from the war can't have a beer...It's total bull. Now does a kid sitting in a school dorm watching tv need one? Maybe not so much.

CR, as soon as you start making determinations as to who "needs" one, you let the bureaucrats in the door. All hell breaks loose from that point on. Set the age at 18 for everything.
