Budget Battle: Democrats Who Left State are Located ....Wisconsin Boils as Governor Demands Union Concessions

In a slap to the face of representitive government, Democratic members of the Wisconsin State Senate boarded a bus to Illinois today in order to deny a quorum that would allow Republicans a vote on a bill to limit collective bargaining for state workers.
This same thing happened in Texas a few years ago.
The Badger State...once home to the Progressive Party of Robert LaFollette, faces a $3.6 billion budget shortfall and the new governor is taking on the public employee unions.
Meanwhile bitter demonstrations raged in the capital of Madison and teachers in some areas stayed home.
A sign of things to come in NY ?

You can't expect these fat and spoiled pigs to accept any kind of cut to the pay and benefits that they've become addicted to. This will happen here. And their cries will be supported by MSM, the Donkey party, and all special interests up and down the line.

Too bad Cuomo couldn't do something like Scott Walker instead of the empty crap he has been pushing for.

I heard a caller on the hotline today trying to say a contract should be honored just like your contract with a bank. What nonsense. To compare a normal contract with one that is entered into under duress as a result of antitrust collective labor pressures.

STOP, LOOK, AND LISTEN:
Anti-Unionism isn’t the ticket to re-election Mayor Graham, just the opposite. Your timing is bad on this one. Six months from now the ground swell will keep you out of office if you’re perceived as strictly Anti-Union, because that will be something the Middle-Class sees as fronting for the Rich who won’t even pay their fair share in taxes. Wisconsin is the wake-up call and I suggest you hear the alarm going off. Ring! Ring! Ring! Mayor Graham. It was always going to come down to the right of Unions to collective bargaining and to have those agreements honored. You act like Unions in NYS, or Wisconsin or Ohio haven’t given back and made concessions. Get real and stop the nonsense talk will you. I know what side I’m on in this one, the side that didn’t cause the Wall Street crash and the side that’s saying okay Gov. Cuomo, we get it, and we agree that we’re all going to have to tighten our belts. Just don’t make the Unions the fall-guy for NYS States woeful economic condition. And please don’t expect Union workers to bear the sole responsibility for these bad economic times, with draconian cost of living cuts, to get us back in the black at the expense of our family budget. We’re not living the fat life out here! Get Wall Street and Corporate America to anti-up as well, no one can get a free pass on your cost cutting plans or reasonable taxation requirements for this State to function in the black.

This is another problem entirely the fault of Government.

How does it feel America, when the very people you are taught to see as "heroes" turn on you like mad dogs when the chow (money) runs out?

You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Anon 9:44, you said, "You can't expect these fat and spoiled pigs to accept any kind of cut to the pay..."
The truth is that the AVERAGE Wisconsin state worker gets less then $45,000 dollars a year with benefits and the new governor wants to not only make these workers pay for their own retirement and medical, costing each worker more then $4000 right from the start. He's wants to destroy their ability to bargain for any compromise to their contract allowing all futhur increases to be taken from their pay. Making these State Police, Firefighters, Teachers, State Workers all servants to the Realm.
The governor wants to do this cause he can and his personal philosophy of contempt for government workers.
I doubt that very much that you or anyone else would take this deal. What's next cutting all forms of veteran military benefits, maybe.

5:34 Police and Firemen were not included in this bill. Keep it honest. Mikey. There's little sense in arguing with you. What kind of bs are you puking this time? "Don't expect union people to bear sole responsiblity blah blah...". Mikey, you don't think the rest of us has payed any price for our economic downturn? In truth Mikey, unions, teacher unions in particular, have largely escaped all the costs the rest of us face. Their raises have continued, they pay nothing for health insurance, their copays for medications are a joke. So Mikey and 5:34. Please don't lie. Most all of us live in the real world. We know the facts. And besides, you can't offend any teachers this week, as they're all in the Bahamas again for another week off, doing their lesson plans at the Tiki bar. So calm down, be honest, and realize that the real people out there are out of money to pay for your special interest.

First they came for the drama
Then they came for the drama queens and took 5:34.

$4,000? Making up facts are we?

Unions no place in essential jobs such as teachers, police and fire protection.

The governor has no contempt for government workers. He is going to save laying off some by resetting their compensation to a-lot-higher than the public sector instead of hugely-higher than the public sector.

It is the unions that are anti-worker. They would rather lay of the junior members. Look at the teachers union. They set a substitute teachers wages at just above minimum, wage. But they will fight 'til the death for a teacher that deserves to be fired. Thus ruining the credibility of the brotherhood.

5:34 The average teacher salary in Wisconsin is $89,500, including salary and benefits. Being dishonest and misleading only works for just so long. Time is running out.

The elected officials , who left the state, are in my opinion, awol, dereliction of duty. They should be expelled; they have no excuse, they were elected to the position.Shame on them.

Anonymous said...

Rick, Agree totally. If they leave hire a new batch and break the union. I bet the lines will be filled of eligible teachers that really want to teach but can't get a job. Coumo's idea of in incentive to reward schools that improve is dead on. Bet NY teachers will not go along with it though. Sad state.

The only thing these thugs understand is power. Fire the teachers who left their jobs and lied when they called in sick. It will come to that. Sooner than they think it will. People don't have any more money to give them.

These teachers are hardly middle class, Mike. Not in a state plagued with unemployment and dwindling opportunity for its youth. People like you just want this parade to go on and on. It can't Mikey. The taxpayers have been screwed to the wall and states are broke. "Teachers deserve a living". You're so full of puke. At least they're your own words. No google search necessary on that one. Pay a portion of their health insurance and their pensions. Taxpayers are demanding that, and you and yours go nuts. Weak.

Middle-Class Mike said...

Right, we're going to the rally, and aren't you guys going to look like a bunch of losers when you see our numbers. You're really be puking then Pal on your 300 dollar shoes. Taxpayers are demanding the Rich pay up, because they sure are --- GET IT!

NYS number 1 in school spending, number 35 in results. What gives?; that all taxpayers should give more? Unless they think #1 is the low end and #35 is the high end.

Iraq is the best functioning society in the Middle East, besides Isreal. Mike, do you have any other examples you would like to give us that are better off? I thought so. So that was just a simple, partisan smear. At least it was your own.

Anon: Do you think you fooling anyone with your laughable attacks towards anything I blog. Focus on someone else. Get some original ideas and by all means do some research to get them, and say something worthwhile on the blog. You continue to attack people who blog never raising an issue or making a point.

Mike, your current posts are unrecognizable from what you offered just days ago, before you were called on your plagiarism. What gives? Before, it was rambling pablum about blah and lib crapola. Now its typos, simple vocabulary, and sentence structure problems. You be a new man. You used to be a gourmet, now you're like us, hamburger helper.

Saying Mike can't write makes you look stupid, it just has no crediability to it. Get a new pitch that makes some sense. Thisis stuped. I mean it. Really stupid and boring
