The solitude of a camping trip may be no more as you could have your picture taken by a high resolution camera on one of the military drones doing training flights out of Fort Drum.
The post is host to a surprising number of the hi tech devices used in Afghanistan and Pakistan to spy on and sometimes bomb adversaries. The Adirondacks are the training route for these aircraft and its considered by the military a good place to do training. Meanwhile the ACLU wants to monitor the process to ensure citizen privacy.
While standing in a mountain stream, you might be watched by those in the bunker at Drum. Just don't be skinny dipping.

I never gave it any thought before... but now that they are going to have gays in the military...unacceptable!
Certainly adds new meaning to the Rolling Stones tune "Rocks Off"
Oh. So now when I take my kids to the beach while visiting Grandma in the A'dacks, my hot pink Victoria's Secret micro-bikini will be serving my country as an integral component in the training of military personnel in their hunt for Bin Laden. Pass the suntan lotion:-)
Just another freedom we've given up due to the peace loving Muslims who have given so much change to the world. I especially enjoy the strip seaches at the airport. As long as kids a brought up to accept this lack of freedom, I guess its ok. God is Great.
the evils this Empire has been loosing on scary people in funny hats elsewhere is coming home.
Don't be deceived: all this hightened security is engineered. It has nothing to do with "fighting a war on terror"; it is to get the public desensitized to the invasion of privacy. 1984 is certainly real.
