Newzjunky - Ritchie Job Creation Plan Passes State Senate

Isn't this a one-house bill ?....much like when Assemblyman Ortiz passes a ban on table salt in the Assembly knowing it will never become law.
There are some good proposals in the Ritchie sponsored bill, but anyone who has followed Albany knows the game......Don't get me wrong...I am not against the Senator or the majority caucus raising proposals, but the kind of thing enacted will be the result of the Governor proposing something and leaning on his party's majority caucus in the Assembly.
Call me cynical, but these press releases likely won't pass muster with a skeptical public. Surely ex newsman Reagen knows that, and I suspect he spiked a few of these in his day.
But like I said, I don't blame anyone for airing their views in this way, and as a reward I will post the video link of Ms. Ritchie.

Yawn , Ho Hum . more hot air -- Big deal where's my property tax cap ?

I disagree with you...the public eats this crap up.

I hate tax credits. Just another name for corporate welfare or more often these days middle class welfare.

It makes no sense to give more credits for hiring an unemployed than for stealing an employee. Either way creates a job. If anything you should give more money for stealing an employee because that means they created a better job than the last guy was offering.

So Mayor, where was your criticism of Aubertine's numerous one house bills when he paraded them out?

Keep your rhetoric I am sure you're not teflon.

Wonder if AJR will vote yes.

Boy some are EASILY impressed by a "zero sum game" being played here--- just a feel good no/LOW impact move from the Skelos playbook

Political grandstanding -- the public are being played . Enjoy the charade

Skelos is running the show in SD 48, there is no doubt about it now. This one-house bills gets us nowhere and only serves as grandstanding for Patty the Politician.

How quickly she learned the ways of Albany...

There is alot of passing things in Albany. to be honest. But does any of it filter down or impact us up here, or anywhere else, besides the wow maybe something will happen now feeling, and we go about our lives trying to pay the bills and fight off illness with no health insurence while we pay most if not all of public employees health insurence.

the answer is pretty much no.

Has to be sponsored in the assembly and to this point nothing. These moves are used to establish position on issues and gain momentum.

It is were we go from here and will there be follow through.
