Some events will never get publicity because of who holds them...Such is the case with Hospice fundraisers held at Iron Block Harley Davidson...Nonetheless I have been to two such events there this year...The latest was a Saturday night reception in the dealership museum.
I know when I held an event for the Zoo last year that raised $1100, the MSM wanted nothing to do with it...It's too bad there is such snobbery when it comes to doing something good...
Not everyone is part of a "major capital campaign" or gets pitched by the opinion makers for their check...
Kudos to Iron Block for trying to do some good even if their only recognition is on this humble blog.

Why do you think the MSM acts as it does towards Iron Block? He is conservative in his political views. That's not cool with MSM types.
Who's Tammy, and what did she do?
Mayor Graham:
Hospice and Iron Block decided not to seek media coverage of this event, according to Linda Sharlow, executive director of the Hospice Foundation.
But, as always, your speculation about the media is fascinating.

Bob's testy again. Watch out mayor.
Bob, if what you say is true, which I doubt, why would Iron Block do this? Probably because of the thought that you would turn this into a personal story about
Mr Dunk. Not about what they were trying to do. The WDT is not a trusted voice for many people in the north country. One sided reporting has earned you a deserved reputation.
Dear Anonymous:
Doubt me?
As the former secretary of the Hospice Foundation, I can assure you of the following:
The Times is always willing to give publicity to events that raise money for Hospice regardless of who raises the money and how much they raise. We are happy to put in stories after an event to say "this much was raised." We publish photos showing check passings from businesses to Hospice and other nonprofits.
BUT: We do not have guns. We can't force people to give us information. So if Hospice decides to let us know how much they received from this or any event we will publish it.

Every media outlet has their own "slant" and picks their events, including Newzjunky. Especially Newzjunky. Let's not just snowball on the Times. On another note, keep up the good work Mayor on helping others, it is nice to see.
