In a NY Post article about various natural calamities, author Richard Horne takes a gratuitous shot at all of us north of Yonkers.
On the subject of the sudden vaporizing of the Universe as we know it, Mr. Horne writes:
"What to look for?: Everything you know disappearing in the blink of an eye...Cold, vacant, nothingness....So kind of like upstate New York."
Lieutenant Governor Duffy will have his hands full defending us against the inate arrogance and antipathy of our downstate friends and media.....We saw it in their villification of Carl Paladino (he helped too), and shots like this one let us know we must keep our guard up.

He's obviously never been to Ithaca, Saratoga Springs, or Lake Placid.
Or the Thousand Islands. You forgot the best of all.
Laugh it off Mr. Mayor.
Just as they have to laugh it off when we refer to them as a cesspool of impotent snobs. So impotent that they could not even get their girl into the senator seat when it was an appointed position.
I voted for Carl, but to say, "he helped too", is the understatement of the year...but the year is young.
Cold, vacant, nothingness.... Is that why the military that travel all over the world decide to retire in upstate NY?
Cesspool? Most definately! Don't know about the impotent part though. There's between 7 and 8 million of dadgum boogers livin' down there.
Well ive called it the arm pit of America.Let him say what he wants they all live in the husler world, the world that people pretend to be doing something important. Wanting big paying jobs that do very little to help the state move in a positive direction.I wish Mr.Andy the best of luck hope that he can get the unions to see there own destruction is on the way.I think his LG is a good pick we will see I pray for all of us up here in the North we are an area that will look out for one another no matter what poor, middle class, rich Northern New Yorkers are a great people that guy only wishes he had the will we have.Has he read about how well we are doing compared to some parts of the country?
Yeah, they're impotent all right. The millions come from all over the world to get Free Stuff. Most of the bankers/lawyers/broker types have young girlfriends and are past the age of wanting a family. The girl serves as an ornament. The illegals all have mucho childreno. Which ensures the one party rule we have here in the Empire State. Same as California.
What do you expect from the Australian Nazi? Since he bought the Post it has been a step in line with the National Enquirer. No thinking person even reads it. Just the Hannity, el Rushbo crowd.
Mayor, why should we take Richard Horne seriously? Up State, Down State, its all NYS, and if you were to sink to selling that devisive snake oil in an election year, I'd be betting against you. I think its time to rethink this Upstate vs Downstate philosophy, especially in a local election like the race for Mayor of Watertown,NY. The biggest negative NYS could ever have is we can't even get along with ourselves.

All the more reason to promote secession from Albany. On what stone is carved the mandate that NY will always be as it exists today until the ending of the world?
Future economic difficulties will force everyone to make difficult, but necessary, decisions. Should all go under lemming-like in these large, unmanageable states? Or will it be wiser to allow, to encourage even, autonomous regions to break away, "to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them" so that local governance can allow liberty and it's fruit - prosperity - flourish?
Why must all be consumed by fires lighted by people far away and alien to my/our/regional needs?
I live in NYS, and I am an American, who's proud to be part of these, 'United States of America' and am not looking for a 'War of Succession' in my future.
"God Bless America ...."
