The official nomination of Darrel Aubertine came in a release today from the Governor's office...Andrew Cuomo called Mr. Aubertine's experience in agriculture "unparalleled."
For the former Senator defeated just two months ago, it's a fortuitous turn of events that leaves him as a member of the new Governor's cabinet and head of an agency with impact across the state and especially in NNY.
Congratulations to the Commissioner-designate (he requires Senate approval).
Darrel Aubertine did wonders for the Democratic Party in the North Country and took some bullets for the team, including staying loyal to the cause despite the meltdown of Senate leadership that contributed to his defeat.
Good for Darrel and his family. They are after all, 'one of us.'

So much for a tight State budget. But he needs a pension.
Someone will hold the job. I am happy its someone from our area, why not? People were not smart enough to leave someone with seniority in office, so at least we have someone that knows agriculture in the top spot. People seem to vote good people out of office, thats the way things work.
Darrell Aubertine was a really solid choice for AG and Andrew Cuomo has displayed a key talent for any successful leader, 'Knowing Talent When You Sees It.’ The Republican who was best at it in my lifetime was President Ronald Reagan. Surprisingly perhaps when you’re reading George W's memoirs, ‘Decision Points,’ he wasn't half bad at it himself. The thing is to change staff when you need to, which George W. did and President Obama has now had to do, to ensure the Whitehouse staff is pulling together. Anyway GOV. Cuomo is off to good start in my opinion.

Easy now Mikey. That was a lot of suckin' up to do in one little bitty post. None of us expect balance or sanity to appear right away. Go for it a wee bit at a time. You must have gotten a bigger hat.
Hey we can let Mike slide we had to let Barack when he got in the white house. He even relized that the guy he was bashing around the country, did some realy good things for the American public.Mistakes where made no doubt,he did some things to ensure our safety.
So what positives do you see in Democratic leaders of past or present, that you've spoken to or about Anon 5:35 and Juston? Yeah right, you'd choke on a two seconds of non-partisan objective thinking and it shows. LOL
MIKE
Nice article in the WDT on the investigation into BFW in the Cape, and how the same investigation has been dropped with Darryl reaping big benefits from them. Corruption is a way of life up here.
