You Dressed Your Dog in a Bun and Sent a Photo to Me ?

I have a dachsund, so I am by no means being critical of Democrat Brian McGrath for owning one too...I am sure his Roxy is a delightful pooch.
But...politics is politics and in the rural and redneck precincts of the 122nd Assembly District, they just don't dress up their dog in a hot dog roll...Or if they do, it's in the privacy of their own home.
If Mr. McGrath is going to run again for this seat, he needs to leave Roxy home and take a Lab or a Golden out for photo ops.
Roxy might play in big cities like Watertown or in the ultra liberal college towns of St. Lawrence County....but in southern Jefferson County or in the foothills of the Adirondacks, they just expect a little more bite from their candidate's canines.

I like McGrath, but I think his NYC past is a much bigger liability than his dog. I'm guessing the number of voters who will not vote for him because of his dog is somewhere between zero and a dozen. In fact, some voters may think he has sense of humor, making him a more appealing candidate.

And in any event, McGrath probably cannot defeat incumbent Blankenbush, unless the district is made significantally more Democratic by making Addie's more Republican- which won't happen as Shelly is unlikely to endange one of his strongest supporters. Maybe redistricting will help by combining Lewis county with parts of Franklin and Clinton, so long as Duprey and Sayward are kept out of the district, would help. Or connecting Lowville to Utica or Schenectady. I'm sure Shelly wants to increase his majority to provide a solid veto proof majority, so one of those things could happen.

If he runs against Mr. Blankenbush again he will get beat again things are not going to change much.I think that you have seen your matches up here politics will fade the King has been beaten. Hale to Patty,Hale to patty.Brian has lied to people right out of the gate realy should think about local board first.Your matchup should be the most interesting one along with a couple other races.

Wow, I love it. The guy clearly has a sense of humor. And who doesn't like a guy who likes a loyal dog?

I don't think the two posters above got the tongue and cheek nature of your post Mayor.

Merry Christmas to all.

Strange Mr. Blankenbush never brought up the fact thta Doheney made all his money in NYC, shame shame.

I would never vote for anyone that puts ketchup on their hotdog. A light stripe of cheap Frenches mustard is what normal people eat.

Why would he,wasn't he running against Brian?Mr.Doheny let everyone know he was wealthy plus he was not shy to let people know where it came from.He didnt miss lead the people by saying he was moving away for greener pastors when his family owns a farm along with a diner in the foothills pretty good diner at that.I don't think Brian is some evil person I just think that he should give back to the people here at home before going for the gusto. He was just a little to,I dont know please dont run that smack by us again.

McGrath will have to spend time here if he wants to win. He's a NYC lawyer who stopped in for the election. Not good.

The dog photo is a bit of strange behavior, but the worst of it is the fact that he put ketchup on the damn dog. Who puts ketchup on a hot dog? Only a big spending, liberal wanna be lawyer from NYC who wants to raise our taxes. Phooooeeee.
