I was watching a bunch of top brass testifying on the 'don't ask, don't tell' issue....They all felt the policy could be repealed with few ill effects and now Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) says he agrees as well. It's pretty much Sen. John McCain still arguing for thes status quo...Even his wife Cindy disagrees with her husband....With a couple of wars going on, this all seems an odd way to preoccupy the military elite, but its an issue kicking around too long.
I say just repeal the policy and get it over with. Ten years from now nobody will remember the whole debate.

President Truman had more courage than all these bozos combined.
The problem I have with it is the word "openly". Sexuality should have no place in the military, just as it has no place in my workplace. You can't be openly anything in most businesses. Sexuality is a private matter. I don't have any problems with gays or straights in the military. I don't care if you get off with trees. But it is again, a private matter. Its difficult for me to understand why this is such an issue, for either side.
Anonymous 10:22 why do you just make stuff up. The military tactic of 'Rape and Pillage' is as old as war itself. Please, "Sexuality has no place in the military", you obviously never put of the uniform. In the service even the women are 'Macho'.
We've all tried lying and dishonesty about who we are for generations, lets try open and truthful and see what happens. Maybe it will be a good thing. Since every extended American family has at least 3 or 4 homosexual family members, lets just all get along this holiday season and put away the hate for a few weeks.
No hate involved, except for with you, 6:51. I just don't see where open sexuality has any place in a military or most any other work place setting. Very interesting response here on your part. You must be one very angry individual. Lets all try to get along during this Christmas season.
