Transitions are always a challenge and for the nation's only blind governor, it will be a challenge to return to just "being a blind man in New York City" with the legions of staffers to help navigate the daily routine.
Governor David Paterson has taught us a lot about this disability and how to still do a job in spite of it. While a novelty when he took office, most of us didn't think that much about it when Mr. Paterson was leading the charge against a recalcitrant Legislature.
Kudos to the Governor for his efforts and for speaking out against those who made fun of the challenges the blind face.

Assign some of Sheldon's staff to assist the Gov in his daily activities. Silver won't miss a crook or two in his office. It'll give Addie more room to clean.
Question: could/would someone explain why the Demos turned on/against Gov Paterson?
I am curious ... because I absolutely loathe the Democrat Party ... but I think Gov Paterson did a decent job especially considering how it was so suddenly 'dropped' in his lap. He is probably the only Democrat in NY I don't grouse about.
What did I miss? Why the return of the Cuomo syndicate?
Get him a cup full of pencils and put him on a street corner.
2;27pm, Agree with you for the most part. But one of his big mistakes was giving out $200 per kid on the benefit card to be "supposedly" used for school supplies. But most of the money went to the "convenience" stores for lottery tickets, malt liquor and no doubt"Newport" cigarettes.
There is a simple answer to your question, 2:27. When the Donkeys were talking about fiscal responsibility and the need to control spending, they were lying. They don't ever mind people TALKING about the need for change, but this Paterson guy actually made moves in that direction. He was a much more honest man than party line Democrats could stand. So, when Paterson shifted from theory (call it lying) to action, the Donkey party had no choice but to move on to the next liar. And now we have Mr Cuomo. He will last about 18 months, or until he starts to take real action to cut spending. Whichever comes first. Then Thug Sheldon will dig in his heels (really, in the back room he wears heels) and the Addie types will line up and vote for more spending. And we will go farther down the drain. The next Gov will be this StatusSchneiderman guy. He is not only owned by special interests, but has two wires carefully placed by the TSA monitoring his every thought. The lines lead directly to Al Sharpton and Thug Shelly.
Oh yeah. Vote Donkey.

We really got a clear picture of what te Republican Party thinks is improtant in our Congress today. They think the 'Richest' 1 percent of the population our Country are important. They would hold up tax relief for everyone else in the Country, especially the 'Middle-Class,' just to protect that one percent of the Richest Americans. That's your Republican Party.'Vote Republican and Screw 99 percent of America.' That will make a nice bumper sticker for 2012 won't it.

I suspect the taxpayers foot the bill for ex Guvs like we do ex Prezs, and I expect he'll have a handful of aides to help him get from A to B compliments of said taxpayers.
Now he can get a REAL job .
We could have had a lady for the job that was not only a very cool lady but had a handycap also. She can't see her feet. :)
That wasn't much of a comeback, Senor Mik. Weak. You should save up until you have something to counter with, then attempt. To twitch everytime you get tickled makes you look foooolish.
