Team Ritchie Parties Hearty in Maple City on a Sunday Night

A huge throng gathered Sunday night in Ogdensburg to celebrate their new State Senator......A crowd estimated at over two hundred gathered at the Phoenix Cafe on Ford Street to bask in the victory of Senator-elect Patty Ritchie who lives nearby in the Town of Oswegatchie.
Many GOP luminaries were there including the chairs from all three counties in the district, Mayor Bill Nelson, Congressional candidate Matt Doheny and his posse, Jefferson County Legislator Scott Gray, labor boss Ron McDougall (his wife was not), former Senate candidate Dave Renzi and the former Miss NY, along with many other party poobahs.
There was a DJ hired and the faithful seemed to be in party mode for the long haul.

If it were up to me, I would not invite Ron McDougall.

Why because he represents blue coller people? If she does her job he will endorce her in the next election. If she dosnt bye bye

The corrupt NYC bosses will no longer be in charge of the Senate. sounds like a good reason to party.

why, are all the Republican leaders from upstate?

Doheny must not be planning on running for office again if he is still hanging around with the same posse. The immature children running his campaign didn't do him any favors. He should shed the frat boy crowd if he wants to be taken seriously ever again. It is time for Matt to grow up. He has a bad reputation for making bad choices when it comes to the company he keeps, politically and personally.

12:57,

There will be 20 upstate republicans and 3 upstate Democrats in the state senate next year. I wonder which party will pay more attention to upstate? Also, is Skelos under criminal investigation like Sampson, Smith, and Espada?

Spin, spin, spin.

Mc Dougall was there, nothing like playing both sides. Guess he won't be getting a state Demo job. Was Dede with the democrats?

Now you'll have the Lawnguyland posse instead of the NYC crowd -- same thing JUST differeant locus power . The Slelos Libous connect held up the state for a month last yr and DID nothing and NOW they are in Charge -- Same old /same old . Lets watch and see IF our NEW Senator has the GUTS to break ranks and be INDEPENDENT

Oh they'll l;et her vote against them when they have an SURE lock on the vote but WATCH and SEE what happens on Close and controversial issues -- thaT'LL BE THE proof OF THE PUDDING .

gOOD LUCK TO HER i WANT HER TO SUCEED BUT not be beholding TO SKELOS AND LIBOUS . THEY'VE ALREADY PROVEN THAT THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT NNY WHEN THEY ENGINEERED THE COUP AND RECRUITED BOTH ESPADA AND THUG MONSERRATTE TO JOIN THEM

There is a defference between being bipartisan on an issue and just voting bupartisan because thats what the pundits say you should do. I know Patty personally and she will vote on the issues, not party lines, REGARDLESS.

Hopefully u r right but i'm from Missouri - Show me the Money first then i'll BELIEVE .

No career politician deserves blind acceptance no matter how well u think u know them. too many special interests and OUTSIDE $$ in INVESTED in them and performance is expected by those interests -- SO -- We'll see.

926 you are so naive....Number one You dont know Patty you know of her. Her friends are not anom. Skelos will shake his smig head and she will hop hop hop...In two years if shes not doing well and Owens is strong Doheny will replace Ritchie on the ticket. Also look for Ogd. Correctional to downsize this year and be closed by 2012.. Take that to the bank

11:58,

Doheny as our senator. Great. Another multimullionare who made his millions on Wall Street. Im sure he'll try to buy the election. Again. Won't win though.

I guess you know how Patty will vote before she takes office. Im guessing she wont vote for the prison census bill, eliminating STAR rebate checks or big subsidies for film producers. Unlike someone I know.

Im guessing she wont advise local government to vote on legislation on which they have clear conflict of interst. Unlike someone I know.

Let's not forget, Darrel voted with his NYC party bosses 100% of the time last year.

And if Ogd closes it will be because of NYC bosses. They're the ones who pushed through repeal of the Rockefeller drug laws and helped bring the state to the brink of bankruptcy.

Everyone has a lot to say but it was a great party. Many old and new friends celebrating a very well run campaign.

11:58, its ok how ignorant you are. I am actually a close family friend. Its all good though. And you wanna go on the OCF closure?? Perfect. =) It was your boy Darrell (along with Miss Russell) who got this facility in danger to begin with! Too bad we didn't get Forsythe in there to give us some great state representation in Albany for us up here in the North Country. Addie is just gonna fall in line with Silver AGAIN. But, thankfully we got Patty in the Senate!!

Nothing's changed except the players . still 3 guys and NONE of our area reps are THOSE guys - so their noses will be pressed to the window trying to look in .
