Paterson Seeks to Put Lawmakers on the Spot

Our lame duck governor is trying to shame the Legislature into doing something about the deficit this year....Lawmakers are back in the Capitol on Monday and Governor David Paterson is asking them publicly to show where they stand....
They will stand on the side of doing nothing as they do not want to offend anyone and are hoping the new governor will be able to pull a rabbit from a hat.
My guess is the lame duck session does nothing other than piling up some pre-Christmas per diems for the members.
No one cares what Governor Paterson is saying....certainly not the lawmakers whose tenure in Albany exctends beyond Mr. Paterson's departure date.
Paterson to lawmakers: where do you stand?

This will only cost the tax payers $100,000 and a waste of time for a lame duck governor.

This only adds to the embarrassment and shame Paterson has brought to NYS. He could do nothing while in office. What makes him think he can do anything going out the door, he could of been going to prison.

The answer is already there. NO PROGRAMS will be be cut. Thug Sheldon will keep things going pretty much as they are. StatusCuomo won't be able to change things. Teachers will sacrifice and only get 4% raises and will not contribute anything to health insurance. Some low level state employees with no political connections will get laid off. No high level ones will. The budget will grow. More kids will have to move away. Owens will remain the closest of friends with Naancie. Taxes will go up for everyone because you should have to pay your fair share.
