Schumer: Soldiers Losing Their Vote is Wrong

This is another of those examples of the reason people have no confidence in elections and think the fix is in......Soldiers overseas missing the chance to vote again this year because our decades old system of depending on the mail and the bureaucrats.
Surely deployed soldiers and citizens overseas should be able to vote through some methodology. How about everytime there are machine problems or musical polling places, and we hear that everything is fine....Fine for who.
Senator Schumer is right...This is an atrocity.
Sen. Charles Schumer

An atrocity and why is Schumer the only one commenting on it...answer, because he will find a microphone anywhere.

But there has to be some other motive here...we all know the military votes overwhelmingly Republican...

The fix is in folks...

Anon 4:22 that is an the off the charts silly statement. In fact the Military votes Democratic in 3 out of 4 instances.

Mike, you're full of it. Military votes conservative. You either know it and you're stupid or you're lying. I don't understand why Schmuck is complaining, it will only benefit him and his caboose, Gilibrandd.

Remember, the Donkey machine did the same thing the last election cycle.

Military votes conservative, thats why a real conservativ like Doug Hoffman who served his country, couldn't pull it out with the Military abs. vote. Give mea break Einstein.

Anonymous said...

In election after election, Republicans do better than Democrats with the military than they do in the general population. MMM, if you want a reputation as a liar, keep it up. The Hoffman situation was one case. In most cases Elephants do better. Don't go Dannie on us. Keep it honest.

Anon 6:54,
And perhaps you'd like to join me in a little sing along in the name of Matt Doheny so we can chill a little.

"Matt Doheny Sings A Funny SONG"

Matt Doheny has such drive,
And he loves to go on 'Live At Five,
Like a good son he spends time with his Mother,
He's not afraid of work painting porches on the side,
And when it comes to earning money he has few equals,
Trucks millions out of 'Wall Street' while he advises businesses to leave the country,
Thinks cheaper labor and tax free safe havens across our borders,
Are the perfect way to spur new ORDERS!,
Its true not many Americans can work those overseas jobs,
Who cares after all profits are up and the owners are happy,
Its easy I just campaign and hide my glee while I act sappy,
Let me just be straight with you voters,
Don't act up there's nothing you can do, as a Civilian or in the Army,
I'm Matt Doheny and 'Wall Street' owns me and we own you,
Get this 'Middle Class' and Army people,
When it comes to the things I worship, militry service is something I never knew,
And you sad little people haven't a clue my about my 'Rich' fat life,
"Cut the Bush Tax Cuts",
How rude of you,
I'm running for Congress to keep things the same,
You need a job,
Its just so lame

Anon 5:42 PM says I'm stupid read below and figure out whose stupid.

The rush towards the Democratic party by soldiers who were no longer buying the typical Republican snake oil about who could best serve their interest started to really accelerate with the election of Pres. Obama, and is getting up to surge levels for the election in the NY 23, where 'Veterans' feel Matt Doheny is bogus in comparison to Rep. Bill Owens. Rep. who served as a Captain (Res.) in the Air Force just came to Watertown to address 'Veterans' issues in a meeting geared towards issues like providing benefits to Veterans more efficiently on the table. The home of the 10th Mountain and Fort Drum in NY23 makes this election a critical vote to any 'Veteran' concerned with the total like of knowledge Matt Doheny possesses concerning 'Veteran' affairs. Mitt Romney successful in the private sector like Matt Doheny, but possessing just as little exposure to military service, clearly won't be sharing any 'Veteran' experiences with one another. As for who's stupid around here and whose lying about how Soldiers are likely to vote this election in the NY 23 Distinct read below to gage how the voting trend is moving Democratic for over two years now.

Dems get new crop of military voters
.By PETER KAUFFMANN | 11/9/08 5:25 PM EDT

For decades, Republicans have worked to perfect the art of lapel pin patriotism creating and exploiting iconic imagery for political gain while neglecting the substantive needs of our veterans. We see the devastating effect of this focus on rhetoric over reality in the dismal treatment of our wounded heroes at Walter Reed, attempts to block the new GI Bill, and the Bush Administrations failure to adequately fund mental health care.
For all the GOP's patriotic imagery and testosterone-infused rhetoric, the sad truth is that most of the current crop of Republican leaders Rudy Giuliani; Mitt Romney; Newt Gingrich; Mitch McConnell; John Boehner; etc. were all of age at the time of Vietnam but avoided serving in the military.

Part two will follow below this entry

Middle-Class Mike said...

President Bush has almost single-handedly ended the GOP's lock on veteran and military voters through his tragic mismanagement of the war in Iraq. I have seen the change among active duty members of the military firsthand. Our families have been torn apart by the intolerable rate and length of deployments and even many solidly conservative members of the military will privately question the competence of Republican leaders.
Now, it will be up to a Democratic president to rebuild a military that has been pushed to the breaking point by a Republican. President-elect Obama will rebuild the military for the 21st Century by increasing the size of the Marine Corps and Army; restoring the readiness of the National Guard and Reserves; and fully equipping service members for the missions they face.

Domestically, the party that rushed us into war in Iraq has abandoned the needs of veterans here at home. It was a Democratic senator, Jim Webb of Virginia, who led the successful fight against the Bush Administration for a new GI Bill. It has been Democrats who have fought to expand health benefits for veterans, improve access to health care for reservists, and cut through the red tape at the VA.The success of Democratic veteran candidates has reinforced this trend. This new generation of leaders is making its mark on the Democratic Party and changing the conventional wisdom on political support among veterans and military voters.
This is not to say that Democrats are inherently more patriotic than Republicans. There are honorable people from all walks of life and political affiliations serving in the military today. But no longer will the party of Harry Truman and John Kennedy sit idly by while Republicans attack our commitment and dedication to our country.

No problem Juston, hang in there, everythings okay with me. Lets just agree to disagree and let each other have an opinion that is aloud to get by on its own merit. To much character assasination in your routine that usually comes at us as we're stupid, idiotic, libatard, donkeys.

Democrats get us into wars, while Republicans tend to get us out of wars. Woodrow Wilson fed un into WWI, Teddy's bull moose party got us out. Wilson did it in again, Pershing and Teddy and the generals got him out. Then Hilter cam along and threatened a bankrupted Roosevelt, another Dem who let us to war. We were led out by the exploits of Eisenhower, Bradley, Patton, and LeMay who knew how to fight. We then had Carter and Clinton, weaklings both. Never was our way of live so threatend by the little peanut farmer who was "shocked and appalled" but the behaviour of the Soviets. Thank God Reagon came along in time.

Its sad you never heard of Dec. 7, 1941, Pearl Habor, so this history lesson is adjourned

That fits too. A Democrat, by ignoring the warnings, blindly waddled into that war too.Vietnam was the same way. Pres Johnson. You start 'em, cause you're stupid, Elelphants end em. I gotta a feeling the same thing will happen with the Iranians. The Great and Annointed One will allow then to nude up, and we will have to be the ones that stop them.

I guess you a little uninformed about the 16,000 or so (if memory serves me right) advisors that Ike put in Nam, before Jack Kennedy was elected. LBJ, staked his whole Presidency, on concluding the work Ike started. Hay I won't say your lying, I realize your helpless when it comes to getting it right.
