Owens and Doheny Trade Barbs and Blows for an Hour

Matt Doheny mentioned Speaker Pelosi by name seemingly dozens of times while Rep. Bill Owens tweeked his GOP foe for allegedly flip flopping on privitization of Social Security.
On the pair went for an hour Thursday afternoon at the Arsenal Street studios of WPBS during a taping of Public Eye with Jeff Cole to be aired Friday night.
Media and operatives were at the closed event...I was neither but nobody saw me wander in.
Mr Doheny was aggressive but not overbearing...Mr. Owens was Congressional looking. I told him afterwards he should have be an anchorman and he seemed warm to the suggestion.
All in all it was a thorough discussion and worth watching.

I dont like flip flopping when it comes to my future. Social Security is my future.. This Wall St paid for a--hole Doheny wants to privatize my future and gamble on my very existance. My children dont have a chance if these clowns get in office. this come up under the Bush administration but obviously its high on the GOP priority list..

Doheny is NOT what we need ---he'll screw things up royally like his WS buddies did . I do not want some freaking Wall St Greed Hog who outsourced to be my representative.

He didn't even paint his mom's porch and for god sakes if you are a multi -millionaire buy the woman who raised you a new home --.

I'm not in favor of privatizing SS.
and I like someone that can change their mind.
But right now instead of Wall street having our money the government has it.
And guess what? They don't really have it, they spent it and put an IOU in its place. So it is going to go bankrupt when this ponzi scheme comes to a head in a decade.

So Owens spent another trillion on Nancycare "reform".

and Owens is in favor of cap n trade.
That is a gift to wall street to trade those fake certificates and take a percent on every trade.

613 It really pisses you off dosnt it that the government tried to help people and give wome of the some health care. Its not perfect but it is a start. Why wernt you yelling when your boy George Bush and Mchugh started a war oversees. How much is that costing us and how much has it cost us.. George Bush and the GOP majority in both senate and houose put us up to our necks in a recession and your trying to blame everything on the Democrats... The same in our state... The Gop might have done somehing with three or four years of Pataki but no its the Democrats fault... You probably would like to take the unfortunate in this courty to concentration camps and keep them.. You know Palidino and Ritchies view on welfare recipiants.

According to the WDT, Doheny is on tape saying he would privatize social security, so he is really in a mess- people are afraid.

5:32 - Social Security is your future? Anyone relying on SS as their subsistence is a fool. It's only meant to be a supplement, not a retirement plan.

7:04, Of course Obamacare pisses me off.
Just like it does the majority of Americans.
Only an incompetent idiot would vote for it without reading it.
Owens is an incompetent idiot.

Is that right 905.. I worked some 35 years at a local industry. Money was decent and we got buy. Raised four kids on it and managed to put three of them into college. My retirement from that company amounts to 117.49 monthly. My social security is my life blood. I wasnt fortunante enought to be able to save alot as my family come first. Our trouble in the North Country was the rich folks always had the business and paid the wages. As low as they could. They and theirs did alright. When new jobs or businesses wanted to locate here in the North Country they drove them off with phoney politicans mostly Republicans.. It forced us into forming labor groups called unions that protected us from unfair practices and bargained for wages for us. Without the unions people like your scumbag Doheny would have it all instead of the very little we have. Dohenys of the world dont need unions. They just lay off workers pay themselves big bonuses then move their companies overseas for free labor. The Republicans still want to reward these companies but I dont. Leave my social security alone its what I have to live on with my wife. Doheny wants to privatize it so his Wall St buddies can invest it for me pay me 5 or 6 percent on it whicle they use my money to make money. If they fail oh well, they lose my money for me.. Too bad go back to work.

If you want to talk about privatization of Social Security that's fine. If you want to talk about ducks, that's fine too. But you folks know that is all a distraction. What you don't want to talk about is the fact that if we don't stop spending, it won't matter what solutions we come up with for SS. While you guys lie about the real issues, people who live on Social Security are facing their second year of frozen benefits. And can their be no doubt that retirement ages will be raised in the near future, and benefits will be decreased? Part of that has to do with the zillion illegals that have been allowed to enter the country illegally and tap into the system. You don't want to talk about Owens/Pelosi's views on that, now do you? And the fact that you can be drunk and stupid and get SS disability payments for life, but you don't want to talk about Owens/Pelosi's views on that, do you? You would rather change the subject and concentrate on class warfare and hatred of people who have more money than you. Smart people you are. Remember when GW wanted to make an issue about SS a few years back? You brilliant folks lied and said there was nothing to worry about. That's the same approach you had about the housing crises. Your buddy (not personal I hope) Barney Frank slobbered that the home loan program wasn't in any trouble, and needed no further oversight. Guess he lied. Well, you're the ones who swallowed, so to speak.

Again you brainless NY wonders, if you think Nancie Pelosi is the answer to your future, then vote for her. But quit with the class hatred, the misinformation, the selective memory, and the just plain stupidity. We paid so so so very much for your government education, it's a darn shame to see so little return for our money.

10:14 you sound bitter. Three out of four through college sounds like a good job. $117.00 a month sounds like a few stupid decisions to me. You must not have been smart enough to work for a school or a government agency. And I'll bet those kids you love so much now live in North Carolina, or somewhere such. You can blame one party for what you view as shortcomings in your life. You can blame anyone you want. But the real problem was a state government that took YOUR ass to the cleaners, devalued your savings and the worth of your company, and made your retirement relatively worthless. Now you think more government will be your salvation and that of your kids. It won't work that way. The Donkeys, who love you so dearly and love everyone so dearly, will get the money to pay for that love from you. Then your kids will make $117 a month when they retire. So I guess you'll show us. As a government employee who will make much more than $117 a month upon retirement I have to break something to you. Government is not your friend. And rich people are not your enemy. And despite what the Donkey party is telling you this time of year, they don't love you. We don't love you. We all care about ourselves. Some of us lie about it better than others. One can of compassion, coming right up.

Nancie Pelosi

Yessir, Mr 12:18, I'll get SS, I'll get a Gov retirement, I'll get deferred comp, and I'll get free health insurance. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. The problem is we Gov folks are getting a deal that working people are not getting. Government employees and teachers have been screwing the private sector for many years now. You've fallen for "the children" and every other bs story we've fed you. And there's no sign that you're going to change. We should pay for health insurance as you do. We should retire as you you do. We should get time off as you do. Working for Gov or a school should not be a ticket to economic advantage. For the past twenty years it has been an unfair advantage. That's how I feel. It's not that I don't work for my paycheck. But this situation is not honest or fair to regular folks. The amazing thing to me is it doesn't seem to bother any of you. So be it. For now. Someday you will understand the real numbers. They will startle you.
