She is probably not worried that the former NYC mayor is calling her his enemy and is planning on advertising against her....But for Assemblywoman Addie Russell it is an issue for her opponent to use if he wants.....Mayor Koch is trying to lead a laudable effort to reform the way Albany operates and Ms. Russell is one of a handful of lawmakers who refused to sign the Koch pledge.
I can understand not wanting to sign stuff....when Democrats ask me to sign a pledge of loyalty to Andrew Cuomo's agenda, I refused...not because I find a lot of fault with what it said...but just a matter of principle.
Like all in office, I took an oath of office and to me thats the pledge, along with an allegiance to the community that elected me.
I like Mayor Koch and his efforts and hope Ms. Russell would have the wisdom to support Hizzoner's goals even without signing anything.

Addie is a sad excuse for an elected official. She has never had any consideration of what the voters want. She is one of the most liberal members of the assembly and her record shows that. She has voted against small business, fought against tax cuts, and increased gov't spending. More of Addie will get us nowhere except more taxes and a larger gov't. I sure hope Forsythe pulls out a victory. For the sake of our district. We need someone who is at least going to stand up for us and listen to us, not someone who will go in with their own personal ideals and forget who they represent. I see myself as a middle of the road voter, but enough is enough. Addie, you have snuggled up way to close to your downstate liberal Democratic friends. Time for some change we can truly believe in. Nick Vaugh had a better chance to beat Addie Russell than Forsythe does. He is not a peoples person and you all know it. I want a person who understands what the families in the North Country are going through and first and utmost cares.. I just wont vote this year in this race.
Vaughs ambition to be percieved as important is going to prove to be his downfall.. If he had stayed in this race he had a chance. Win or lose Doheny dumps him when the election is over. That is the facts of life. Remember Doheny hates quitters and what Nick did will weigh in on thatdecision..

4:58, Forsythe is a very personable guy. I have seen him at over a dozen parades, and he makes it a point to shake hands with as many people as possible. Heck, there were times when he had to jog back to his truck in the parade to catch up because he was taking so long talking to people. But as for Addie? She just walks down the parade route waving. Hardly ever walks over to talk to people. She has no personal connection whatsoever... Oh, and Forsythe must have some good personal skills to be such a succsesful insurance salesman. Last I checked, that was a people business in which you had to associate with customers on a day to day basis. Seems to be doing pretty well to have such a business for the past 25 years. Please I'm begging for someone to explain to me this anti-union thing as it pertains to teachers. No ones messing with it in law enforcement (Police) or corrections but tar a Teacher or Supt. with being lazy at the drop of hat. Of course on Monday thru Friday, you'll want that same teacher to be available as Psychiatrist, fill in Parent, 20 other roles, like coach etc., and of course he or she better teach their butts off so your kids can ready to make it to college, or take their first foray into the job market. Too much. Teachers do not work six hour days, good ones, work 10 or 11 hour days teacin grading papers, and putting together great lesson plans. They have my respect.

Some teachers do work the bare minimum. The text book comes with a lesson plan that teachers can follow verbatim. Some teachers will have students exchange homework assignments at the start of class so that they can grade them themselves. For exams, they'll have multiple choice fill in the dot exams that can be graded in a machine.
The fact is teachers are getting good raises, pension, and health care while others are suffering. There is no pay for performance, even awful teachers get raises. Once they have tenure, they pretty much cannot be fired regardless of how poorly they perform. They also get 3 months off a year. I don't know of any other "profession" where that is true.

Second, I've never really thought Addie was all that great a legislator especially since her kid was born. Her attention is there and not on the district, I have no problem with that technically, but with the shambles NYS is currently in we need full-time devoted people. Addie ain't that.
Third, I really like Forsythe's commercial and I hope he uses Mayor Koch's group as an example of why we need new representation. Addie is just a number in the State Assembly Majority and really can't do much other than employ Ted Ford so he can advocate for Socalism during his taxpayer funded workday.
Finally, she must really think a) we're idiots with her most recent mailer and b) that we don't pay attention with her farmer's mailer. She's a bloodsucking lawyer and quite a well-fed one at that from what I can see. She has to go and she's Dave Forsythe's best campaign volunteer.

For a year people have called Dede "liberal" despite her Conservative rating in the top 25% of the legislature. Despite her consistent 100% scores from the NRA and despite her good grades from the Farm Bureau, NFIB and Business Council. AJR gets failing grades in all categories...Dede is not a liberal but AJR is.
