HOTLINE: Libertarian Rips at Foes in Politics as Usual Rant

Libertarian candidate for Governor Warren Redlich was doing fine on the HOTLINE today till he started dumping on my candidate and her staff.
Redlich is a smooth talking GOP refugee. I didn't see much new on his platform from what I have heard from Republican candidates in the past. The true libertarian platform in the race rests with Kristin Davis, so I respectfully cannot recommend Mr.Redlich if you are so inclined.

I'm not a GOP wannabe. I'm a registered and elected Republican.

Why were you afraid to challenge me about my comments on Ms. Davis?

It's well documented that her campaign is financed by Carl Paladino. I didn't make that up.

Because he wants to stir the pot, not clarify candidates' positions for the voter.

Jeff, you do two things when you get anyone of stature on the Hotline. First, you hog the entire conversation and prevent callers from addressing the guest. Secondly, you're so interested in being polite you don't really ask any hard questions.

It's not surprising that this is the way things turn out.

I listened to Mr. Redlich, and I thought he did a fine job. He seems to be in the know about the other candidates, what they are about. He also had facts and figures on this tax and spend routine, that our current government fails to address. Like he said it's not just dems nor repubs, it's both major parties , who have gotten us into this mess. I have to agree with this. I think I'll give this guy a closer look.

I was impressed at how bright this guy is. He speaks a mile a minute too.
I was going to vote for crazy Carl but now I am considering this guy.
But he is crazy too. Prohibition doesn’t work? Why, because we tested it once? One try is enough for anything I guess.
Murder rate is up, does that mean we should quit prohibiting it and tax/regulate it too?

Gay marriage is a civil rights issue? Bla bla bla. Gays have the right to marry anyone of the opposite sex that would have them, just like everyone else.

Cut every state worker to 100k or less? Now this guy is a lawyer and I guarandamntee you he makes way more than 100k/yr. So isn’t it just remotely possible that some of the government jobs require people as talented and hard working as him and thus deserve the big bucks?

But other than that, this guy should have been the tea party candidate instead of Carl and he actually would have stood a good chance against Andy.

So drop the prohibition stance
Compromise on gay marriage and make it civil unions instead.
And come up with a ratio for Indians to chiefs, for state workers and add a pay czar to set their compensation and then you would have a good candidate.

I thought that the guy was very informed on the issues.Your show has taken off you are getting more canidates on and the questions you ask are just fine.I would just say one thing don't forget about your locals.Warren if you are reading this I agree talking about social issues is not the most important thing right now,Gay marriage is not something that I agree you with on I am so tired of hearing about it.I dont think that this was politics as usual rant you have my vote Mr.Redlich and don't be afraid to call him back 315-755-1240 let us know how you are doing.Kristen Davis is nice looking no doubt,I agree with her on some of the issues but if she was running for mayor of the city of Watertown would you vote for Mr.Grahm?Gop wanna be in sheeps clothing is better than a seasoned independent flip flopper on a afternonn talk show...Lmao I could not resist...

Rickster is a retired government employee. That's why he likes to blame both sides. That way he can rationalize no action being taken, and no one being assigned blame. It works for our generation of silver spooners, me included. I second Rick in all his opinions. It's both the Donkey's and the Elephant's fault. Let's keep this joke going a few more years. Rick and I, like Dannie, can wallow in taxpayers' money till the end of our days. Don't anybody get upset. Statusquo.

Watching the debate...Doheny comes off as an arrogant know it all...he can go home to Alex Bay....

Doheny is a fast talker and he talks faster when he lies....i.e. Privatization of social security....

Well Rep. Bill Owens tried to get Doheny to talk about the 'Street" as in 'Wall Street,' but Matt wasn't going to talk abut that Street, no he decided to scale down and talk about 'High Street" in ABAY. Appears Matts more comfortable talking about High Street, because the only thing he bought up more often then 'High Street' was Nancy Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi, etc. The guy is a joke, but its not going to be on us, we're sending him back to 'Wall Street' place he vaguely WANTS TO remember.
This guy is just too up-tight and Mark Barrie hasn't helped that conditon very much.

Bill Owens is the one from downstate he is a lawyer what diff you trying to make here.listen during the debate Owens says he is sorry five times big sighn of weakness on the issues along with age.Doheny tore him up on why he decided to come home on vacation he blamed it on both sides of leadership blame game come on he has only been in there for one year Mike, your toast you can't keep with me and there paying you.The only guy that is a joke is you with your lies and your pittyfull post meatball...

Middle-Class Mike said...

Pollster boy, you never get it right Juston, Mr. Owens explained that the gridlock the Republicans put into play on the vote concerning 'Bush Tax Cuts' prevented anything from taking place. Mr. Owens killed your guy on Fort Drum, it seems Matt doesn't know anything about the military period. If the guy isn't a lapel pin Patriot, no one is and he never served period Juston. He's going back to Wall Street, not High Street, so ge over it Mr.I always pick the aces rigth around here.

Are you gunna be around after the election or are you gunna curl up in a ball and hide?Look darrell is the statesman and he did not even put his hand out and offer a hand shake regardless of how he feals about her he should have done that.He is not showing very good manners to are younger voters would you agree? If he would have adleast put his hand out more respect would have been given by people...I do like MR.A Mike

8:31; I retired for a specific reason, couldn't stand the play of politics, with-in the civil service. Actually, retired at age 50, with a penalty. I do blame both major parties, but I also look at the clientel, that are with-in both major parties; each has thier shady people,; 10% in life no matter where you go. So, who do we blame? We need a conglomeration of the right people, no matter which party they belong to, to get this state back on course.

Mr. Redlich, would you please consider running for mayor of Watertown? We desperately need you.

I heard Mr. Redlich on the Hotline. He presented himself well and Graham was courteous and professional in the interview.

In other words, you stand for nothing Rickster. "Who do you blame" means stand pat and don't rock the boat. If you can look at this state and come up with a conclusion like that, so be it. But you have to admit, that kind of stance only benefits people like you and me and Dannie. People who have taken the system for all it is worth. That's fine. As I've said, with no kids left around of my own, I don't mind screwin' yours.

"I retired at 50 with a penalty".
Rick

What the hell does one expect when one retires at 50, a gold watch? We can't all be educators.

I say we remove all penalties for government employees who retire at 50. That is an inexcusable situation and completely insensitive to the needs of our government employees.

rick aldrich said...

5:42 and 5:45 ; sorry, but I am not like you or Dannie, not an educator either. I could have carried on for many more years, milked the system for what it's worth,(w/ no penalty)but I did not agree the way money is wasted, the government is one of , if not the, biggest waster of money. If you folks didn't see it, then you are probably part of it. And you know what, working in the private sector, I still witness the waste of money, by the government. Should I start with spending (or should I say "wasting") year end money?

You're exactly like us, Mr Rick. You deserve everything you have. You earned it. And now you see politics as "they're all bad" so you can justify inaction. All three of us, you , me, and Dan, have healthcare better than 95% of mere citizens. Screw them. We earned it. We will all retire earlier than 95% of mere citizens. Screw them. We will live longer and have a higher standard of living than 95% of mere citizens. Screw them. And why is this? Cause we're bad people? No. Maybe Dannie is but not you and me. We're good guys. The reason we have our teeth fixed better and our hearts fixed better and more time off and better benefits and more income is simply because WE WORKED FOR THE GOVERNMENT. I'm not sure that's the way it should be. I'm not sure that's the way it was meant to be. I feel like we're part of the old Communist Party faithful. We can even use advantages to get our kids into the system so they can be chosen just like us and not have to move away. That's not right.

Hard work is not the issue. A government job is not all roses. But I believe it is time we started tipping the scales the other way. Taxpayers can't afford this too much longer. Dannie's "I'm entitled" doesn't cut it anymore. And the teacher's greed has reached a level all its own. If people only knew they would react. But they don't realize what is going on. So be it. Let's elect the same ol' and do it to 'em again for yet another generation. Works for me.

11:26,You do have a way with words. We'll talk again.

I just think too many of us have started to believe our own propaganda. The teachers make me sick. All they talk about is investing, in THEM. If we really do believe in the kids we gotta start thinking about them, and not ourselves.

Best to ya, Rick.
