UPDATE- NYDN now reports Paladino never uttered the word "dysfunctional."
Chalk up another media favorite group that Carl Paladino has antagonized...This time its gays...Mr. P.told a gathering of ultra orthodox Hasidic Jews that not only would he veto a gay marriage bill, but that Andrew Cuomo should not have allowed his daughters to march with him in the Gay Pride Parade. And he said children need not be brainwashed in school to believe a homosexual lifestyle is OK.
All of this prompts the reflexive charge of being homophobic from the Cuomo camp.
If Carl is looking for friends in the City, he needs to go beyond one religious sect whose leadership happens to share with Mr. Paladino a revulsion and contempt for Speaker Silver.
The red meat thrown so easily in such settings doesn't help Paladino get elected, and the Cuomo-centric media will be looking for every incendiary quote to reenforce the popular perception that Mr. Paladino is incapable of governing.
Now the Gay Pride Parade is something of a affront to those who want their gays more in the background, but whether Mr.Cuomo takes his daughters with him to march is his decision as a parent.
This guy has so squandered the centrist anger he tapped into in the GOP primary. I say he loses by 18.
Carl Paladino in blast at gays: 'Nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual'

This sure does lend credence to the argument that the T.E.A. Party isn't focused only on fiscal issues, but also aims to advance the tired, old conservative social agenda, dictating morality to those they deem sinners.
By the way, T.E.A. Party candidates who forward horse porn via email and then label others as dysfunctional are even more laughable than T.E.A. Party candidates who misunderstand evolution. They just keep topping themselves. Thanks, T.E.A. Party!
what a disgrace he is.
and to think I was going to vote for him. What was I thinking?
I'm still voting for him but he sounds as clueless as Palin. I have no problem with vetoing gay marriage but this guy is over the top. At this point I would vote for a witch...oh wait I voted for her for senator and for the presidential primary.
My campaign Ad for Mr. Paladino and those like him - just call it my entry - the only one we'll never need in this race.
The best 55 seconds you'll ever need.
CAUTION: - salty language.
But sometimes, sometimes, you just have to call out the media for its bend over backwards politically correct stance on all special interests. Its an honest question. It is a proud day in your family when your kid comes home with his boyfriend? Tolerance and live and let live is one thing. We now celebrate everything to absurdity. And Dannie, you've called all Republicans racists, it only stands to reason that they're all homophobes. Hasn't it gotten a wee bit foolish?
I can't even imagine the pain a gay person must feel living in America, with a man like this running for Gov. in NYS for the Republican Party. We have s lost our way to allow this man to be in a position to embarrass the Party of Lincoln in this manner. Really I sad over it and just wish it wasn't happening.
And that's the kind of bs you will always hear from a liberal like MMM. He thinks everything is worse in his OWN country. Imagine the "pain" a gay person feels in a country like Iran, where THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE GAY PEOPLE. Or some African countries, where they just end up dead. MMM, you're a complete idiot. Life is never perfect. Some of us are tired of the preaching of fools like you.
Using Iran and "some African countries" as benchmarks is setting the bar pretty low.
Vote for Paladino. At least he's not stoning people.
Another hit piece from the Daily News. Yawn. There seems to be one every few days, each with a more obscure author than the next.
Hey, Jeff... why not post the story in the PS about Carl's development record in CNY? At least that story was fair.
Anon: 11:21 Republicans call us 'Dumb Donkeys or Idiots,' fine call me what you want. Just don't call me some one who votes for the likes of Carl, Patty, or Doheny, because then I'll feel like your calling me a Dumb SOB again partner.
Wasn't Mike supporting Doheny in the primary and claimed to be a registered Republican. He even sought a job on the Doheny campaign.
Anon 11:54 Yes, exactly right as reported by Mike, on Mayor show. I am a registered Republican, I was told by Doheny people I would considered for something like running anoffice for him. Changed my mind, when he didn't go with one of ten key tips I suggested to him which was to consider supporting ending 'Bush Tax Cuts,' because in my opinion Owens is right on that issue. I've been totally honest about it, even on radio; truth is I changed my mind.
Get this straight -- I gave Mr. Doheny the best suggesions I could muster - free of charge. I also explained all of this to the Dems. I find honesty is the best policy.
How abou you?
for further clarification, since its being discussed in Mayor's nexttopic area: I'm a registered Republican who thought Matt Doheny would move towards the center after defeating Hoffman to be in a position to successfully challange Bill Owens. Instead he moved towards Barie/Tea Party and some very rigid ideas about what this economy needs to get going. I feel ending the Bush Tax Cuts will do more to narrow the budget deficit then a lot of other measures. I can't agree with Mr. Doheny that it hurts small businesses. Its just not true in my mind. Mr. Doheny feels it will also hurts Dairy farmers, but I disagree. The beginning of this campaign cycle and when I started speaking with the Mayor on his show, I made it crystal clear that I was a believer in getting more disposable income into the Middle-Class hands and pushed taking property tax levels back ten years. I've never wavered, I really feel America needs a viable Middle class or we're all going under together economically speaking. So there's no master strategy going on here to betray Matt, I just feel he doesn't represent the Middle-Class well with his policies.
Paladino is not inciting violence or inviting discrimination. He merely states the obvious for most families: the behavioral choice of choosing to be gay is not an acceptable example for our children. It should not be a legitimate option paraded before our children. Like most sexuality, it should be discrete and private. I admire the courage he has in being politically incorrect. It is certainly more honest than the sniggers that go on with my numerous liberal friends.
As I said last month don't quote me the flawed research that says it's genetic or about the rats that turn homosexual with extreme overpopulation. Extrapolating animal behavior to human behavior is, at best, flimsy. My neutered dog humps other males (and females) not because he's homosexual but because he's dominate.
For the above reasons, I do not want McGrath as my assemblyman in Albany legitimizing a poor behavioral choice.
Again The liberal Press in NYC distorts the comments made to an all religous group.
whatever gender McGrath's bedmates are, he has the best signs by far.
And Iron Block had a great bash yesterday.
Intolerance and discrimination because of who you are is wrong. Being who you are, living who you are without harassment and violence is a fundamental freedom of all citizens in our country. The hate continues. If there were no religions, would there be war? If there were no religions, what would our belief systems be? I am a very proud mom of a gay child who is by far not dysfunctional. He is an independent person living in an urban area that follows the law, pays taxes and contributes to our world in a positive manner. Our political representatives and candidates must focus on public issues such as job creation to generate money for the necessary services for their constituents. Leave the personal issues out of politics. Our private lives are our business, period. Let's stop the prejudice and hurtful behaviors and focus on how we can support all human beings. Let's all live who we are and stand strong and proud. Social justice will prevail.
Carl Paladino is a bigot. Perhaps his daughter is gay. I wonder how he would feel if she was gay and then terrorized and brutally victimized like those innocent people were in brooklyn just because of who she is.
Mr. Mayor has strung two phrases together, spoken at separate times, to makes Carl's words appear worse than they were.
Here is a question for the libtards which was what Carl was getting at: If you have a son, would you prefer he be gay or not gay? Only a homophobe would have a preference?
You do not have to be gay to write popular songs and play the piano...Billy Joel boinks supermodels.
I know an 18 yo girl that started hanging around Clueless. A 24 yo female soldier befriended her and they ended up having sex.
This soldier looked like a boy in every way. The 18yo has moved on and gone back to boys.
But I think she is a victim of a too aggressive gay-is-okay society.
So is it okay to have gay pride?
Is it then also okay to have heterosexual pride?
It should be renamed the gay tolerance parade.
No wait, tolerance means putting up with something that annoys you.
It should be renamed the gay acceptance parade.
My apologies to the mayor. I did not see that he had corrected his Carl quote, in the side bar, when I wrote the above.
Heterosexuals are not harassed, threatened, beaten and even murdered the way gay individuals are. How much hate and fear is there toward heterosexuals? There were five suicides in the past six weeks due to the non acceptance, harassment, threats, public humiliation, bigotry, fear and hatred. Think about how you would feel if this happened to your child, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin or friend. They have every fundamental right to live who they are without this "terrorism" towards them.
Great...you and Carl agree on something! Thanks for stating the obvious. Except for your first sentence which is total bullship. Heterosexuals are harassed, threatened beaten and even murdered the same way as gays. The MSM just doesn't use these stories to lead the news every day. And there are not countless advocates and hate laws and clubs to file a suit ever time it happens to heterosexuals.
Take yourself as an example. You are not gay but it is obvious that you have been picked on your whole life.
And before you google bogus statistics from the FBI, TRY THINKING abut what those statistics really prove.
The questions still stand:
Is being gay something that you should be proud of?
and if so, does it follow that you should be ashamed of being heterosexual or proud of being heterosexual or neither?
Make sure you show your work libtards...then you can get partial credit if you get this wrong.
10:19am are you smoking that wacky weed.So what you are telling all of us is that Gay people out number straight people 10 to 1 keep on crying the blues.
My daughter just came home from college and announced that she was gay. I'm so proud. I can't wait to march in a parade and walk up and down the street and tell all my neighbors she loves women. I mean what are my alternatives. If I don't put up an "I'm proud as punch" sign, I have to beat her up and tell her she's on her own and take back the new car.
MMM, you're not very bright, but you fit right in in today's parade of fools. A hundred years ago people would have been glad you lived on the edge of town. And just as today, most people wouldn't care a bit if you were gay or not. It would have been considered a personal matter, not something to score political points about.
So here we go, returning the same ol back to the Gov's job while the state rots and we talk about something completely different.
Like I said call me not very bright, a stupid donkey, or and idiot; but please never call me the dumb SOB that voted for, Carl Patty, or Doheny.
There should be a comma between said and call. There should also be a comma between Carl and Patty. The improper use of a semicolon I won't mention.
Please, stay away from the classroom. Tenderness is not enough.

I knock out people with my copy, and guys like Dan are brilliant, so don't worry about us okay. We'll get our point across. And you never hear guys like Dan or I getting excited about telling everyone how much smarter we are then everyone else, we just have a sense of humor a kid around once in a while and thats my take on it.
Yes, you certainly knock people out with your copy.
And now we hear he never said what he said. It was just the MSM jumping over itself to make up some news. Now, should we be surprised? Will we get an apology? Will MSM come under scrutiny? Naaah.
You know even if Carl didn't say what they said he said, he probably THOUGHT what he didn't say. Hey Dan, MSM, whatcha got to say on this one? You guys love media so.
Middle Class Mike your my hero coming on the blog scene telling all of us who have been around for some time what to put on before we go to bed.I was thinking about it Im so glad Mr.Doheny and his staff saw you coming from a mile away. Registerd Republican you call yourself then you say nothing good about them you are not a Republican ....
Ahter reading the back-tracking by the media on Carl's remarks, and the Cuomo 1982 slogan, what do all you Carl bashers have to say know? How about, open mouth, insert foot? On the other hand ,tell me how politically correct ("hogwash"), you are. I know, I know ,Carl is supposed to think it, but never say it. But the Paladino critics, neeeeveeer, everrrr, thought it.
Lets go Doheny...Mike you there? Lets go Doheny bring the seat back to the people.Nancy has gotta go she needs to lay out on the beach with Charlie Rangel,Dan Francis and Middle Class Mike.
Juston, you did the impossible, you made me laugh.
Palidino is surely writing the book on how not to run a campaign along with Rand Paul. Why bring up social issues in this season when we just have to point at the economy and the debt.
Hari; good comment, can u pass that on to the media, as well who seem to instigate?
