The Mad Prophet of Politics Telling It Like It Is

Is Carl Paladino the 2010 version of anchorman Howard Beale ? The imagery at his victory rally and his free use of the "Mad as Hell" line from the the move 'Network' allows the drawing of comparisons to the 1976 film.
Is Paladino a man "struggling to accept the social ails and depravity in the world around him" as Beale is described in a Wikipedia bio ?
Certainly the people behind the scenes at the Paladino campaign would find a recreation of Beale in a political context an interesting exercise in political theater.
Of course the end of the movie isn't so good for Beale....but its fun to watch and there is a cathartic value to this kind of spleen venting....

Carl is the best thing to happen to NNY in a long time. Albany needs to know just how pissed we are.

In 1982 my college mass media professor showed the movie "Network" in class. I think i fell asleep because it was so boring. Has anyone ever really watched that whole movie besides our mayor?

One of the best written screenplays ever....You might be better off watching Ultimate Fighting

Winning on a platform of anger only breeds more anger down the road when the functioning system itself does not deliver no matter how much anger is on display by those advocating "change."

Anger, resentment, rage- the platform of the Grand Old Teabagger Party.

Ken Bbush doesn't have to worry about separating himself from Carl P. He already has done that with his hoards of money and a million dollar phone system. That's the stupidity Carl is running against.

BB is the "old" in the Grand Old Party.

Carl is hooked into government himself- pay attention.

Dan likes things as they are. Who can blame him for urging people to just roll over and take it. Life is good, for him.

If Carl won, government lovers would be scared to death. Expect them to throw fits.

I hope we are all "Mad as Hell" our current elective officials are a bunch of clowns.

Should we be "Mad as Hell" that we have one of the worst rated legislatures in the country.

Mad as Hell because we have three men in the room deciding what government will be for the rest of us.

Mad as Hell we cannot pass an ethics bill that establishes term limits.

MAD AS HELL WE ARE THE HIGHEST TAXED STATE IN THE COUNTRY.

Ahhh, we are use to it, vote them all back in.

Dan will never get it.This Country was founded by angry P.O. People. Our Forefathers would want Us to revolt and in fact Thomas Jefferson would incourage it.Dan it's time to quit defending Dysfuntional Downstate Democrats. Your True Colors are showing.

What is ironic is that 'Howard Beale' would want nothing to do with a Carl Palodino. Has anyone seen the movie?
