There is a report that the recently completed Census will call for New York to lose TWO Congressional seats....dropping to 27 from the high water mark of 45....Ohio will lose a pair too.
Texas is said to be on tap to gain four seats.
The pending redistriction will be done by the State Legislature elected this fall.

That would be the recently retired leaving for warmer and cheaper climes, as well as the recent college grads fleeing for anyplace that remotefully looks like it might offer jobs beyond the $7.50 minimum offered here in NNY.
The only ones left hanging around here are cops, teachers, state, county and city employees and us 50-somethings just hanging around waiting for the S.S. check.
Evil and to all others, this is why these are the most important elections possibly in NYS history. If we elect a Democrat Guv (which we'll probably do) elect a Democrat Senate majority and return the same ol' Shelly thugs (not even going to make a dent) NYS will be mired in liberal socio-economic policies for the next thirty years.
The Dems will redistrict all current Republicans and weak Democrats (hello Darrel Aubertine) into obliteration. They will stop at nothing to gain every ounce of power and we the people must prevent them from stealing all our sovereignty.
I'm not a huge Paladino fan, but I'll pull a lever for anyone other than a Cuomo (been there, done that...he's the ULTIMATE Albany insider), for Patty Ritchie (sorry Darrel, I love you, but your party is in power and destroying our state) and for Ken Blankenbush (he's the lesser of two evils and doesn't add to the Shelly Swamp.)

I feel all the hatred and jealousy against state, county municiple workers because of pension and wages etc.. Why each and every person out there made their own choices in life. Some chose to travel aned spend their money some chose not to save and put aside for pensions but they made their own choices... Up here in the North Country the people in Massena enjoyed Reynolds,Alcoa and GM and the big wages that went with it.. They made two or three times the amount of money that everyone else did but apparently didnt save for a rainy day.. Now that the rainy day is here we must punish all municipal employees.. WOW what a bunch of small people..
We lost two Seats that went southbound becuz real jobs went southbound or "offshore." The only jobs left are ones supported by tax dollars, and taxpayers are leaving as quickly as they can. Yet... yet those public employees still expect those big raises, another public double dipping job and nice retirement checks from two (or three) public jobs. Well, sorry, the math no longer supports that lifestyle. Those of us left here that ain't sucking the public tit can no longer afford those that are. That's the math.
Two congressional seats lost in NYS just means two less liberals in congress. Things are not all bad it just depends how you look at things.
We talk about the big salaries state employees get...national average of 45,000/year. I guess those big salaries might be big in NNY but would not make it in major metropolitan areas. Then compared to the taxes we pay that state dollar is cut a little shorter.
Don't get me wrong we need cuts but what we need more is a state overhaul. They want 250 million out of the state workers that is about 1/10 of 1 percent of the entire budget.

Now this is funny. You gotcher Evuls, who vote Democrat as faithfully as they flush their toilets. These Donkeys and the spending they does is the main reason we have a rotting society up here in the northeast, but that don't stop ol Evul. Then, in parting of the clouds, he recognizes that all we have left are teachers, public employees, department heads and such. But he doesn't go the next step and ask WHY. The reason, Evul, is we've taxed everyone into oblivion so long we have no real employers left. And you and the Dannie types just want to do more. Dannie, because he has his future pretty well buttered by the taxpayers, and you, because you don't know any better. Now we got these public employee types lecturing Evul about how we're just little folks and not the cause of any of our problems. They're right, in a way, it's not the snow plow driver that kills us. But there are so many teachers, admministrators, department heads, counselors, bullshit artists and political scammers that are part of the system that make up for actual workers. The state is out of control. But tell you what. Evul, you just keep flushing your toilet, I mean voting party line Donkey. And we can keep watching the kids head on down the road. And you high level state employees. Do the Dannie. You deserve it. You earned it. You're entitled to it. Be proud.
