Palin: Obama doesn't have the 'cojones' to enforce immigration laws

Here is this week's outrage...Sarah Palin questioning the President's manhood by saying he doesn't have the "cojones" to enforce the nation's immigration laws...
I trust I don't have to explain the colloquialism, but I do think its clever to inject a Hispanic phrase into the immigration debate.
While most of us can recognize Palin's remarks this morning as just a colorful metaphor, by tomorrow morning the MSNBC crowd will be going nuts.
It is an open question whether anyone should question the President's cajones. For Palin, it's part of her outspoken Mama Grizzly political persona...Already on the lefty blogs, there are starting the complaints about hate speech and making the "teabagger" references about Palin.....
I have to admit, as I watched FOX News Sunday and heard the quip, I was surprised to hear her talking about the President's b----.
UPDATE: The Washington Post reports the last known use of the word "cojones" by a prominent female was by Secretary of State Albright in 1996 in reference to the Cubans shooting down aircraft flown by anti-Castro forces.

Did she spell it with an "a" too?

What's funny is that she and her running mate couldn't get enough support to win the 2008 election, due to her lack of cerebro. She couldn't hack the rest of her term as governor, due to her lack of espina dorsal. And, if she runs in 2012, she'll fall flat on her borrico.

She's the Kathy Griffin of Facebook.

I corrected the spelling after reading the Washington Post version...Seems there was MSM confusion initially.

Sorry folks, I'm not a Palin fan, but I've got to agree with her. This whole illegal immigration inaction issue centers around the federal govt. and corporate America, which want to keep the "real" cheap labor force. I do not have an issue with legal immigration ,who want to work, make money, support themselves and family. But, "illegal" means what it says;" we all will pay a price for others",who do not respect the laws of our land. We as a nation of states, are starting to lose our identity,in this great world of oure.

What does that mean? What identity are you referring to?

Clinton was the 1st black president, Obama the first female presdent and unfortunately for this country the last president. She is bringing the ultimate change. That is what she told you idiots.

8:38PM,

Every four years, during all future presidential elections, you should have to wear a sign that says, "Drama Queen".

To you folks that continue your script and twitch whenever Palin speaks, what do you suggest regarding border policy. Right now, and for years and years, we have had none. We can go back and forth and blame everyone, but fact remains, we have an open border. Whenever anything is suggested, you people are opposed. Its clear you want that open border policy to continue. Maybe its time you were honest and say so. Palin has nothing to do with this. The Great One has no balls to do anything. But neither did Bush. This goes back years. All I hear from you people is talk of a comprehensive policy, which has meant no policy at all. Lucky for you, you folks live in the north where the millions of illegals don't have a big effect on your life. Makes it easier to lie about this being a Palin issue.

Close down the boarders. What the hell is wrong with this country. We can not aford to live, expecially NYS, with tax increases just to support, educate and give medical treatment to illegal immigration.
i agree, immigration laws need to be modified, but the boarders need to be tighten up. One of the many probems is they do not pay taxes and the reap the benefits of everyone that does.

The closest we've been to immigration reform in recent years was the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007. Even Bush supported it. Conservative Republicans killed it.

Why did they kill it? Rather than spending a bunch of tax dollars on an effort to deport all of the current illegal immigrants, it provided them with not amnesty, but a reasonable path to citizenship.

So, what's holding up immigration reform? Contemporary conservatives who are more concerned with a costly circular effort (i.e. circle jerk) to deport current illegals than a focus on preventing future illegal immigrants.

Why, you might ask? Well, it's because they're "conservatives". That means they have no forethought, only hindsight and a very simple grasp of the present.

Fear not, though. Fortunately, they're a dying breed.

Not true, 9:38, but true to the script. I give you that. The problem with that bill is it did just what the late 80's bill did under RR. It granted all the illegals amnesty and did nothing to shut down the open border. All we would have done is another round of play acting on border security. Which is probably what you wanted.

Suggestion. Stay right here where your head in the sand attitude costs you nothing. You wouldn't want to live in any border area. It ain't pretty. And by the time this no policy dishonesty bankrupts the entire country you'll probably be set for life.

Bush administration White House Press Secretary, Tony Snow:

"President Bush has noted repeatedly that the comprehensive reform he supports is not an amnesty bill. Amnesty means forgiving wrongdoing without imposing punishment. The immigration reforms passed in 1986 granted amnesty. The legislation under consideration this year does not. This measure imposes significant punishments on those who came to this country illegally between 1986 and the beginning of this year. In fact, the White House website addresses the myth that the measure is amnesty.

This is the White House webpage that addressed those myths.

But, by all means, keep your head in the sand and stick to your script.

Even better, this White House webpage explains further myths about the immigration reform that "conservatives" blocked.

show me where it says that these illegal workers don't pay taxes. And I want to hear about this "nation of states or whatever that comment was referring to.

As stated previously, we've been lied to by prior administrations. Now 10:36, do you ever want to move on or do you want to keep playing this game. We have open borders. We have no intention of fixing the situation. People like you want to change the subject and blame others. Fine. Gets us nowhere. I blame Calderone and those before him. There is no reason for Mexico to remain a third world country, not with all its resources. But the corruption continues, as ours grows.

9:27, in order to move forward on long overdue immigration legislation, it's important to understand why previous attempts at immigration legislation were blocked. It's because people like you and the partisan "conservatives" that killed the last bill make false claims about amnesty, while the Congressional Budget Office and previous Republican White House provide proof that those claims are false.

So, it appears that, as usual, we can't even "move on" to the point where we're having an honest discussion about reform. Maybe the most pressing immigration problem that needs to be addressed is all the "conservatives" who are infiltrating our Congress and obstructing progress on the issue.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, and "progress" would be to call the millions who have flooded into this country illegally suddenly legal and STILL not take a firm stand on enforcement. We did that before. It got us where we are. Don't worry 12:12, these folks are already voting and are already reaping the benefits of citizenship. I can see why doing nothing is in your best interests as a good party line Donkey. Paying for Mexico's problems will be the next generation's issue anyway. I'm with you, I don't care either.

Let's move the Border Agents where they belong IN ARIZONA, not in NNY catching people with no passports.

Palin is basically stupid (PR savvy to make millions, I'll grant her that) but dumb. She couldn't even complete one elected term in office - she's a quitter...

We have no need for her, period.

She's always reminded me of Anita Bryant.

We as a nation of states are starting to lose our identity, means exactly what I said. Our founding constitution is starting to resemble a blank sheet of paper, with the federal government filling in the blanks, with whatever it wants to. That's not how it was supposed to be.That's not how we got to where we are today. It used to be "the land of the free and home of the brave", but is starting to become "land of the free to break all laws and home of I could care less about your constitution. If I have to travel to countries with proper ID, be asked questions about where Iam from, where am I going, for how long.etc.., what is wrong with asking all who may be questionable?Oh, by the way,did I mention that this was at a customs station? So why ,cannot all follow the laws of a nation that was built on immigration? I do know that some people are seeking a better life ,even though they come here illegally, but the downside is ,riff-raff will diguise itself and travel along with it. So ,I guess we are losing our identity as a law abiding nation of states.

"Our founding constitution is starting to resemble a blank sheet of paper, with the federal government filling in the blanks, with whatever it wants to. That's not how it was supposed to be."

What's truly ironic about your claim is that the Constitution actually did start as a blank sheet of paper and, then, the federal government filled in the blanks with whatever it wanted to.

That's how it was intended and has always been.

Incidentally, the Constitution was last amended eighteen years ago, when Congress voted to prevent itself from giving itself raises. That's a blank that was filled properly, just like twenty-one years prior, when the Constitution was amended to make eighteen the national voting age.

So, what "filling in the blanks" or amendments are you talking about?

Dannie is right. Palin is stupid. And I hate her and all her family. I hate her little kid too. You know, the one with the funny looking eyes. I hate all the Palins. I hate that daughter too. The one who got pregnant. I like that Levi guy because he said bad stuff about all the Palins. Never mind that he admitted later that he lied. I likes him. I hate all the rest of 'em.

You folks are a joke.

10:56 Our constitutional rights are in jeapardy more than at any time since our nation was founded. You're flippant response makes little sense. Can you imagine what American citizens would have thought about random road blocks a generation ago? Now people accept it as the norm. How about phone taps that were justified under anti-terrorism legislation? I submit things have gone too far. What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand in the Second Ammendment? Even when the Supreme Court makes a decision places like DC and Chicago defy the Constitution. The court stated clearly that the Second Ammendment is an individual right. I don't believe our young people have a sufficient appreciation for individual rights. They are taught to conform and comply, a lesson you've obviously learned well and our schools teach with a passion. The only area where rights have been expanded lately is in the area of illegal immigrants and terrorists. They do enjoy newfound rights under recent interpretations. If you are a foreign combatant, you are now entitled to US taxpayer paid attorneys and access to US courts. Please feel free to show me where that is printed in the Constitution. It doesn't much matter. I've enjoyed a great American life with bountiful American freedoms. Due largely to people like you, those freedoms are disappearing. But it isn't my problem. It will be your children who will have to deal with the aftermath. We are rapidly becoming a third world nation. Rights have morphed into government granted priviledges. The fact that the nation will be bankrupt soon is almost a side issue. Congratulations.
