One of the five Democratic candidates for AG is calling Albany a "crime scene" because of the culture of corruption in the state capital...Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice says only she has the law enforcement skills to take on the Albany cesspool.
By depicting the Capitol wrapped in yellow crime scene tape in a recent direct mail piece, Ms. Rice ironically is blasting her own party which controls all branches of government in NY. Two of her primary opponents are long time state legislators, icluding Sen. Eric Schneiderman who has been endorsed by a long list of party leaders.
Its a tad slanderous to call people criminals and perhaps Ms. Rice owes voters some more specificity.
Who committed the "crimes" ? The Governor ? The Speaker ? The Senate Leadership ? Bureaucrats ?
Of the candidates for AG, only Ms. Rice and GOP candidate Dan Donovan come out of a prosecutorial background.

Criminal charges is only one of the crimes lodged against our currently leaders. Every legislator has committed crimes against the voters. In times of economic anguish we are subject to a budget over 3 months late, increase taxes, increase spending, and very little accountability to the voter.
November will be here soon, we will see if the voters remember the last two years or fall victim to 3 months of members money used to grease the election wheel.
I think she hit the nail on the head. While not all of our legislators are actually criminals, the waste of taxpayer money is excessive, and that's metaphorical theft: a crime.
The Mayor doesn't seem to usually like Rice, but from what I've seen, she seems tough, and a little rough around the edges, and I like that. Schneiderman and Coffey have too much baggage (Coffey's pay-to-play law firm rubbed me the wrong way, and Schneiderman is with Al Sharpton and the fringe left; nuff said.)
I met Rice when she came to Sean Hennessey's dinner in the spring, and she's very personable and seemed smart. Hope she wins.
I think its funny, listening to her and other Dems talking about the dysfunction and criminal behaviour in Albany. The Donkeys run every office in NYS government. And now they say they'll clean things up if elected? Not even Dannie would believe that line of bs. Kermit might.
