While the MSM is talking about the shepard's pie and the copious selection of draft beers, the core marketing principle behind the Tilted Kilt is....OMG...female pulchritude !
Its routinely referred to as HOOTERS Scottish cousin, replacing the orange shorts with plaid and imposing a strict appearance criteria on its servers. They are recruited through casting calls and are said to be signed to modeling contracts.
The "Kilt" opens officially tomorrow and is owned by a couple of prominent local business scions who get a lot of credit for not hoarding their fortune and are instead investing it in our city.
So I Googled "Hooters,Tilted Kilt" and found there are many comparisons between the two chains...Seems the biggest difference is sophistication of menu and the addition of Celtic culture which allows the Puritans to believe their trip there is cultural and not an erotic experience.
That means its OK to hold a Chamber event there when the same event at a HOOTERS would be something to be met with dropped jaw.
Its good to know there are people who understand the fundamental appeal of cold beer, curly fries and pretty girls.

And you think this is a good thing for Watertown ?
Instead of showing S.D. girls, lets see some from Watertown.
Thats for the local MSM to cover
I think its a terrible thing for Watertown. I hate women. I hate, I mean I hate Blankenbush. But I hate women more than I hate,,, well maybe not. Maybe I hate BB more than I hate. I'm all confused. I know I hate someone in this deal really a lot. I know I hate George Bush.
Well their fortune was created by the taxpayers and Gov. Pataki so I guess it's a good thing they return some.
Isnt it ironic that NYC and Shelly Silver get all the credit for breaking the state..Once in a while like the previous blogger someone puts the blame where it should.. Pataki and the Senate GoP put this state where it is. Sure Spitzer screwed up personaly and Patterson hasnt done much but think things out before you vote..
It's all George W. Bush's fault...Republicans are to blame for all things. Democrats can do no wrong because they offer hope and change and feel-good-onomics...
GET A LIFE AND GROW UP FOLKS. Welcome to Watertown Tiltd Kilt, can't wait to have a Smithwicks.
Noooo, their fortune was created by their own ingenuity. At least they didn't make a living out of lawsuits. They seem like nice, good people. 8:44, you're a dumazz.
No NYS built there entire operation, you're the dumbazz.
Well, I dined at a Hooters once. The girls were pretty, freindly and business-like. The food however left a bit to the imagination. If Jodi and Doreen see to it that the quality of food matches the atmosphere, they should have another sucessful business on their hands.
Another amazing piece of economic development . this is real high end stuff, something to be proud of and that adds value . Thank u sir may i have another -- whats next?? maybe legalized Scottish funhouses ? :>))
6:48 Will you read something sometime. Almost anything will raise you from the level you're at. The state never spent a dime on gun cleaning kits. They did provide business loans, but every business in the state gets this crap now. You're going to single these people out for your anger about that practice? It was the Feds through the military who signed the big contracts. Sportsmen also were part of their profits. This is one situation where the taxpayers got their money's worth. I'm sure we can count on you being a repeat Obama voter.
I don't think it's anger as much as disgust for the way companies extract money from Govt. in the area of job creation, Now you didn't mention the race track issue, so you must feel it's not OK? Here's a factoid a food distributor in the area threatened if he didn't get what he wanted he would move to Pa. Now it turns out they can't create the jobs they thought, so you see my friend my anger is not pllaced at the individuals but the process and the crowing that follows.
I see that 6:24. You be a makin sense. Being part of the crooked culture is part of being in business here in NY. It is difficult to draw the line sometimes. We tax everyone into the ground then provide kickbacks to the well connected. It does make ya sick.
