Does Shelly Even Own a Car ?

When a City of Rochester parking deck collapsed, it was Shelly to the rescue with state dollars...So yesterday, Mayor Bob Duffy (also Cuomo's running mate) gushed over the Speaker at a dedication ceremony....Giving Mr. Silver a free lifetime parking pass with his photo on it.
Of course, its symbolic, as its doubtful the Speaker would ever have occasion to park in downtown Rochester. Its still a powerful image and a reminder to all the throw-the-bums-out voters that Sheldon Silver is still The Man in Albany.
That won't change in January.

He is the man. That will only change when he leaves. Northern NY voters can complain about him for an entire lifetime and it will do no good. You can put GOP into your existing Assembly spots and Senators but it wont change anything. Not so much Sheldon but NYC will alway rule the Assembly while the Senate is a little more evenly distributed. NYC will almost always get what they want.Take Blankenbush and Forsythe in the local Assembly and really what changes.. Not one thing.. While Ritchie could make a difference. The GOP or Donkeys whichever rules the Senate will always fall in line with either Silver or Skelos.. No difference. So when you vote you either vote out of emotion, with Ritchie or experience with Aubertine.. Me I choose experience this year.

I bet that lifetime parking pass is worth more than Yankee tickets.

The fact that Cuomo's running mate feels the need to stroke a political appendage of Sheldon during the campaign should tell you all you need to know about the coming Cuomo administration. But you knew that already.

10:44,
But a Republican Senate could stop or at least moderate Shelly's socialist agenda.
There were some taxes and spending that passed the last 2 years that wouldn't have passed if GOP was still in charge of the Senate.

1:25,
Your theory sounds good on paper but when I was a kid all I heard was how terrible Cuomo 1.0 was.
Then we got the republican Pataki the profligate that made Mario look like a libertarian.

10:44 So experience is what you want to vote for. Must be everything is great in the state. Property tax and school taxes keep going down. Business climate in the north country is booming and it just keeps getting better. Must be voting for Bri and addie as well. They both have all sorts of lifetime experiences as well. Oh that is right owens has been there 1 year or so and voted for the liberal crap as well. Keep up the good experience you must be all set.

And 10:44, voting for Forsythe and Blankenbush would put in some great representation for us down in Albany. What do we have right now? A 30 year old lawyer who has absolutly NO excperience running a budget or a business and a RINO Republican who is taking out everyone she can on her way out. Both Forsythe and Blankenbush have owned their own business, set pay roll, stayed within a budget. Both have years of community service and excperience on the legislature. Addie and McGrath are not the answer for the North Country. Oh, and as for dear ol' Darrel, he has literally fell in line with his Democrat overlords nearly every single time. Patty stood up alongside with Dave Forsythe and were the first to speak out against the closure of the Ogdensburg CF and offered $$$ to help the cause while Addie and Darrel sat their stunned that the very votes the cast backfired on them and caused the prinson to be on the chopping block to begin with! Of course after the fallout from that, they both claimed to "fight" for the prison, yet it was their votes that but the prison in jepordy in the first place. Excperience? Yes, I will be supporting a ticket led by Dave Forsythe (118th Assembly), Ken Blakenbush (122nd Assembly), and Patty Ritchie (48th Senate).

That's about right, 6:18. Unless you have a government job or you teach school. If that's the case, hang in there. You'll do pretty well, better than your neighbors, and you can take your money and run after you retire. That's what everyone has been doing for the last decade. Sounds like you get it. As long as you don't have any kids that you care about, life is damn good.

I disagree regarding Prime Minister Sheldon Silvers tenure, there seems to be widespread sentiment in NYC, regarding his conflict of interest as attorney-assemblyman. His voter approval has been resounding pro-Silver within his own Assembly District, but I think the conflict of interest issues within the State Senate and Assembly are going to spill over onto the Assembly floor and we’ll see a new Prime Minister.

Silver has to go if we are ever to have tort reform, but as long as we have State senators continuing to practice law while in office, you can rest assured, tort reform won't come to NYS and we will continue to pay the high cost of insurance and Defensive Medicine.
Silver and his attorney buddies in the Assembly all have to go as well as Saland (41), Breslin (46), DeFrancisco(50), Nozzolio(54), Ranzenhofer (61), defeat Tom O Mara(53), Domagalski(59)in the primaries or general election and Mark Grasinti in the General election. Eight in all! They all need to be sent home packing.

But 11:53, to simply label someone as an attorney and making evil for that isn't fair. I know many kind and compassionate attorneys who do the right thing.
