Where's Patty ?

And what about Patty ? Patricia Ritchie has just been handed a treasure trove of campaign material in a budget rife with fiscal tricks and unacknowledged deficits....A budget that raises taxes, overlooks other revenues, and avoids cuts.....
But for Patty its not so easy...She will have to curry favor with the same teachers unions, trade councils and big government advocates that Senator Aubertine has to listen to.
Ms. Ritchie will also have to take advice from Minority Leader , Senator Deal Skelos and the GOP hierarchy who really have had little of note to say in this process other than 'no'.
Indeed, could Ms. Ritchie do anything other than what Mr. Aubertine did when as a member of a 32-30 majority he had to conclude he could get no more for his district and had to hold his nose and vote for a politically perilous spending plan ?
Everybody says, 'vote 'em out'........But what is the alternative offering ?
We need to hear whether Ms. Ritchie will be an independent voice for lower taxes and less government......or something else.
The license plate issue was a nice metaphor for Albany and it got some attention....
But its a much more complicated set of issues than that...and many more trade offs that are made than just whether to get a new plate.....
The campaign for her will be whether she believes in a different course of action and if so, whether she can articulate it.

Patti Ritchie will fall in line completely with the GOP and Skelos. She is not capable of doing otherwise. She performed very well as County Clerk but now she is simply a puppett on a string. Just listen to her sometime and you can draw your own conclussions..

While facing a Senator who has three wind leases and has advised local public officials in his home town to vote on wind matters even though they too have financial conflicts of interest with the wind developers, Ms. Ritchie could bring the matter of ethics back on the table.

Mr. Aubertine has said that wind development is a local issue. But he said that only after he was aware that his home town was controlled by a wind corrupted town board and a planning board whose chair also holds contracts with wind developers.

This type of corruption negates local rule and Mr. Aubertine has given the corruption his blessing.

Property values of Ms. Ritchie's home county as well as those in the Lake and River Districts of Oswego and Jefferson will tank because of big industrial wind.

Even the JCIDA has been told by a consultant that wind development is a high risk venture.

Ms. Ritchie could address this very important and very real local issue that Aubertine and Albany puts aside as the North Country becomes their wind scam sacrificial lamb.

Patti cant say anything without approval of Skelos.. he wrote her acceptance speaches and explained to her how to ride the politcal fence. She gets out to rah rah occassionaly and is just riding this out until public opinion of Darrell surgaces. Whatever pisses people off she will promise to fix but think about it she cant. The problem with her is they had nothing is the GOP to run against DArrell. The same goes for Addie so they settled on some inmature kid that liked to pose. He quit so now what they have on the ticket. Mr. personality himself. Look at the disray in Canton and then judge him....

If our founding fathers had the courage and conviction of these modern day idiots we’d be kissing the Queens ass.

Frankly all of those who are declared candidates are underwhelming . Sad but true there is yet to be a candidate that brings a high degree of intelligence and the requisite courage to withstand up to party bosses of one ilk or another .

Some of these folks are fine as people but lack the chutzpah to either generate enthusiasm or excitement about new possibilities

But that said , i feel that i can no longer support people who have been part of the current 3 ring circus that is the NYS Legislature, Sorry but new faces can do no worse So they "saved" a union feather-bedded prison and i get to pay more property taxes and receive fewer services and pay more fees -- what a deal !

Rwiley, is that horse you are beating dead yet?

anon 3:55 and 3:57, our current representation and candidates are so inept you yourselfs should run and save us all. I have read nothing but good ideas and solutions in your posts. Oh thats right, all you have is the ability to criticize. That helps alot.

3:57 One state legislator has been an independent, thoughtful voice and she is not running...Many of us will miss Dede

unfortunately the Hacketts debacle and her ties to big Labor and that melieu has colored my opinion of Ms Scozzafava .

Trying to smear Patti is fine. But if that's all you got, you're gonna lose. I like Darrel. As things stand I'll vote for him. But telling me Patti is really Skelos in disguise is not a reasonable strategy.

Wiley, I hope they put three thousand windmills right in front of your house. I hate 'em like you hate GW and Sarah Palin. But because of your nonsense I will forever support windmills. As long as they are near you. And I hope they whirr like mad, disrupt your heart, give you ADD, kill your birds, lower the value of your outhouse, and bother your dog. I care about you almost as much as you care about your neighbors.

Patti is only a puppett for the GOP in SLC.. She was going to run in the 118th against Addie last year but her son got in trouble and they asked her to step down. They have nobody that could possibly compete with Darrell so they used her notarity this year. I,m not saying shes stupid, or not a good person or any of that crap but you really have to search for any reason to elect her Senator..

9:54 must be June O I can smell that cheap nasty perfume......

Anonymous said...

I dont think June Oneil is afraid to put her name to any statement she makes.. Every body that complains about anything points to Aubertine and Russell. If Ritchie and Forsythe will bring change then vote for them.. Then for the enxt term everything wrong can be pointed out as their policy and votes.. Its like Ruggerio running for Sheriff.. He wants to leave his footprint.. One term heh.. What changes could he possibly make in one term.... Hoffman could make some serious effort to change things however Doheny will win GOP and hes one of the good ole boys. Hoffamn will run in Election and Owens will win....

I think 2:17 is right. Owens/Pelosi will win. Hoffman and Doheny will split the vote and Donkeys will stick with what they know.

Senator Aubertine has a proven record of listening to Senator Espada who is currently under investigation, along with another handful of City Democrats. The association with the defunct NYS government has nothing but a negative impact on the incumbent.

Many believe any change would be better than the intrepid corruption, criminal activity, proposed government shut downs, and budgets that do not balance with increased spending would be better than we have now.

I say vote them all out because the alternative could be the Republicans could gaining control of the Senate and a balanced legislature would restore a voice to NNY. Currently both houses are run by city democrats which has lead to removal of the funding for revitalizing upstate, closure of NNY prisons and dorms, gun control legislation, attempting to close parks, and increased spending when we are in a deficit state.

Maybe it is time for a change.

POLY could you be more partisan and full of crap? Really Aubertine listens to Espada, really? Come on for once spare us all your BS and write something remotely true.

Anon 6:44 who do you think sent the farm legislation to the Ag. Committee, Espada! It has nothing to do with agriculture products it had to deal with labor law and pay. True or Not.
Mark my words that bill will be back on the floor again and it will not be in the Ag Committee. The democrats in the Ag. Committee refused to vote, stating it should of been in the Finance Committe. Check the votes on the farm bill, it failed because of Senator Aubertine and the Reps voting against it.

Hey Poly again showing ur ignorance, Sampson sent the labor bill to ag not Espada! Check your facts, Espada was the biggest proponent of the bill the last thing he wanted was it going to the ag committee in front of Aubertine. But thanks again Poly for showing us how full of crAp u are!

Poly Information said...

I stand corrected it was Sampson the Majority Conference Leader not Espada the Majority Leader! But the point is still very clear. Both from the City and both under investigation.

The democrats still did not side with him in the Ag. Committee.

Anonymous said...

Umm... check again poly, again u dont have your facts correct. Sen Dave Valesky a fellow Dem did side with him on the ag issue he voted no. Last i checked Sampson wasnt under investigation. U must have him confused with someone else. Also you claim that Darrel always sides with NYC dems, but then again you turn around and state that he went against them on the Ag issue. You are very confused, do u need help?

Poly Information said...

Under investigation for leaking confidential information on the Aquaduct. Yes, Valeskey did vote with him and the rest would not vote, starting to split hairs.
Bottom line the dems did not support him.

Anonymous said...

Ummm, nope malcolm smith is under investigation not sampson, and u can't say the dems didn't support him bc valesky did. Better yet Aubertine has the ability to get repubs to line up behind him ie the ag bill. So where is the problem Poly?

Go to Youtube and see Darrel and co including Valesky kill the farm labor bill

Spot on Poly, we need to go back to repubs in control of Senate, Sampson is a crook. I recall Joe Bruno as being a real stand up leader with no investigations or CONVICTIONS next to his name. Thanks for being a beacon of Truth Poly!

The words are in print for Sampson. That is what you called me on. Like I said Valesky is in the same shakey position Aubertine is they are both worried about thier seats. The rest of the Dems run from them, that is the only point I am making.
