Call it mixed martial arts or Ultimate Fighting, our State Senate has narrowly said its OK in NY....The matter must still be decided by the Assembly.
Now that the Senate was weighed in on human cockfighting, perhaps they can get back to more mundane items, like deciding on a budget.
Forty Four other states allow this kind of entertainment and I have even seen it on our local home town, family-oriented television station.

I live in Griffo's district and at least in my neck of the woods cage fighting wasn't something being talked about in the coffee shops. Who is Griffo dancing for?
Remember the evil, corrupt, violent, Senator Parker that everybody including Griffo was hating on a short time ago? Well he was the Sponsor of this legislation and Griffo was the Co-Sponsor. Griffo is just another "anything for a dollar" Republican.
These same senators and assembly people want violence curbed in the movies, videos. They are against everything they cant control or make a profit from.. Your right the money talks..

Creating legislation to protect our self from our self is getting a little old. If I choose to get in to the ring, then I reap the fame(winning) or failure (knocked on conscious) of my decision.
We ban Ultimate Fighting in NYS but watch it every night on cable or direct TV. You do not have to look far to find a training dojo, even in the North Country. Up in Ogdensburg they have Duquette, a very famous mix martial artist and his dojo.
This is a little different from cock fighting or dog fighting because the animals are forced to fight. Not the case with Ultimate Fighting.
These fighters are very trained and skilled. This sport is more safe than boxing: FACT.

Hes not from Ogdensburg nor does he pretend to be. For a staunch GOP and Doheny supporter all you do is make noise . My opposition to this fighting in the fact the previous blogger gives. These people are well trained and professionals and are watched closely by trained proffessional referees. My oppisition is the fact our children are not trained yet they try to copy these people. Someone will get hurt or worse because of the copycat factor for our children. We who dont want smoking in movies or tv and dont want violence on tv put up with this..
