With the backing of Oswego County Conservatives, Doug Hoffman appears headed towards that showdown pitting the minor party against the Republicans who are increasingly more likely to back Matt Doheny as their candidate.
That could set up another three way race in the fall or could give Hoffman more of a case to convince the GOP to back him....I doubt that will happen, so look for the triad that includes incumbent Bill Owens.

Isn't it nice that the Oswego County Conservative chairman answers and reports to his downstate party boss. says a lot about them, doesn't it? Apparently there is an 'entitlement" factor in the Hoffman candidacy. Politics at its most shameful. Larry G.
Not sure I understand the shame. It it is ok to pretty much bribe the party bosses and get the rep endorsement like Matt has, but Doug stands up for his values and gets trashed. Yes this a fight for the right of a choice, not by the bosses but for the voters. If can will great for him, if Doug the same. You all should cheer we have a chance to choose and get told vote for Dede like year.
Doug Hoffman does not have an original thought; he does and says only what he is told to. The idea of supporting someone because he is not articulate is ludicrous..but just a further example of what to expect if Doug is successful...somebody(ies) else will do the talking for him .
Every committe should let the primary choose their candidate. The GOP and the Cons. are split but they must come together in the end to win this race. If not the dems will retain this seat and that is the worst case senerio.
