In Facebook rant, Hothead Sen. Kevin Parker accuses Albany pols of being white supremecists

If you are a Democratic senator from a traditionally GOP section of Upstate, the race baiting rant of Brooklyn Senator Kevin Parker has to make you cringe.....The hot head senator called Republican senators "white supremicists." In particular he singled out longtime Syracuse Senator John DeFrancisco. The episode played out at a committee meeting for the nomination of a candidate for service on the NYS Power Authority.
The attack against DeFrancisco will get media play in the southern end of the 48th District and that's not good news for Senator Darrel Aubertine. The more the Democratic caucus appears to be off the wall, the more dangerous it is for Aubertine. Montseratte, Espada, Smith, Parker.....others as well....
They all overshadow Aubertine's carefully crafted Senatorial image and overshadow the issues on which Aubertine has delivered. Today, Senator Parker reaffirmed his comments....You can bet his video will be seen again.

This kind of stupidity is becoming more and more common. Even though we've made a lot of progress on racial issues, some people still profit from claiming we haven't. As long as there is money to be made there will be children throwing temper tantrums. You have to question a system that rewards such ignorance.

And we still want the NYS Senate to be controlled by the downstate Democrats???

Downstate dems, downstate dems-you all sound like broken records. You focus on the scandalous but not the voting records or the philosophy. You ignore that this region has been under the the thumb of Republicans since the last Glacier left-must be holdover Neanderthals.
And..this will surprise you... who needs this worthless Republican in disguise Aubertine? He votes against farm workers, he votes against strengthening SEQRA laws, pushes for windmills, and votes against gay marriage.Everyone of these votes could have been made by Will Barclay, so what's the difference? As a Dem, I'll vote for Ritchie. If I'm going to get a Republican anyway, I may as well vote for one. At least he won't be contaminating an otherwise good caucus- philosophically speaking. Yeah, there are bad boys, but the Repubs have more than one of those, too. Speaking of bad boys, a lot more North Country light should be shown on Aubertine's wind mill connections. That's way more meaningful than some guy blowing his stack.

I saw Kevin Parker on Capital Tonight last night and he doesn't even use proper grammar,

Of course, it is we the people that are voting these idiots into office.

Anonymous said...

anon 8:29 you forgot to mention Aubertine's land leases with the wind developer in Cape Vincent.

Anonymous said...

Proper grammar? Ever heard Aubertine read?

Anon 845 why dont you enlighten us or is this just BS.. and 910 yes I have and he sounds just fine.. Of course we all arnt perfect are weee DO you teach at the GOP school of grammar . If you want limited speaking ability just attend your parties meeting with Patti...

921 - it is slightly embarrasing to hear Darrel speak in front of crowds...it's just not his thing, but as a public official he should at least be well-versed.

To the point of the post, Mayor, spot on as always. Aubertine, Valesky, Stachowski all vote for leadership in the Senate. As long as they publicly and privately support Smith, Parker, Espada...on down the line, they have to be painted with the same broad brush.

To be fair, however, if one or two or all three had the stones to come out and say Sen. Parker should be flatly removed from the Senate I would be significantly impressed and give those people credit. I don't know if it would translate to a vote come November because they'd still support Smith and Espada as "leaders", but it would go a long way. Time to end the partisan gridlock on both sides, Democrats and Republicans need to own up and say to leadership you're anything but leaders and we're moving on without you.

Unfortunately today we have the dregs in elective office simply because we the people allow it to happen by our collective stupidity , indifference or let someone else do it it attitude.

We are at fault for what is happening -- WAKE UP , GET INVOLVED ACTIVELY , serve on community groups , vote get off your Lazyboy and keyboard and TAKE ACTION or this situation will only breed MORE BOTTOM FEEDERS in elective office

this is 9:10-No Repub teacher here. I'm a Dem that's fed up with Aubertine. Not all of us attended Sunday's rah-rah dinner.
Aubertine appears to have no real principles-everything is for a vote-nothing about whether or not it is right.
I don't care for Ritchie much either, but I refuse to support a sell out Dem.

On the other hand, I fully support Addie.

We have dregs because we elect them through a process called Democracy.....Why aren't the "serious" people who complain about elected officials ever seen with their name on a ballot ?

Jeff Graham I like my family too much that's why.

9:21 am: My bad. It was probably just ebonics.

Anonymous said...

Actually, Jeff, I have, and I have served. What you did was to assume, and we both know what that does.

Anonymous said...

Jeff i HAVE too have served the public in both professional service and as a member of several public boards some of which were gubenatorial appointments . Moreover I have been active in the process for over 3 decades and since retired

I have to agree with others who are dissatisfied with the quality of leadership we see so often today . The public needs to get active and demand performance based on specific measureable objectives and weed out the chaff

anon 10:23 You are fed up with Darrell but all for Addie. Explain difference. Borrow 2 billion to get us out of this mess but promise to make tuff cuts in the next 5 years and yes to all the dem votes. Where are they different? Looks like same old partisan crap. Show me either leadership qualities. Time for some to go. 6 months to November, maybe we will have a udget by then.

I explained my disatisfaction with Darrel. Go back and reread it...slowly...and...carefully. Perhaps you both had the same reading teachers.

I do not have the same complaints about Addie.

ok, just read sloooooooow, explain difference re voting record only. Lets look at facts and you can highlight wherever needed if you can find the difference. Where has either seperated from their own party. Now remember take sloooooow. I want facts only not crap!

The comments on this blog makes me wonder what the blog was about. Democratic Senator Parker is a gangster in a suit. This is not is first violent outburst and will not be the last. His last outburst was when they tried to remove Ex-Democratic Senator Manserrate from the Senate for assaulting his girlfriend physically and cutting her face with a broken bottle. Senator Parker again took the situation into his own hands and charged a female Democratic Senator while slinging profanity and slurs her way for suggesting him being expelled.

If anyone is a racist, I believe that would be Senator Parker. Then again that would be racist on my part and the ACLU would be knocking on my door. Race baiting is an easy way out and justification for his violent outburst and threats. These are the guys trying to pass an ethics bill. Get rid of all them!!!!!

i'm not on here to be your servant, so if you've read my complaints about
Darrel's voting then you know how it differs from Addie's. Perhaps the problem is of a larger magnitude, such as, you've missed MY point and have let your own preconception take over. MY point was that Darrel is voting too much like a Repub, so why do we need him when a Repub would make the same votes. I'm not looking at things through your squinty little elephant eyes. Now go back, reread my comments, slowly, and maybe you'll catch on. If not you are out of luck because I'm done tutoring you.

Why do we care if they are democrat or republican? Why do we care if they can dazzle us with fancy words? I would rather have someone in office who will serve all the people, can speak so that all will understand him/her,and let good common sense be thier guide. All too often, we have people in office who spend thier time, pointing the finger at each other , speak with all those fancy words ,(that very few understand), and wind up with swollen heads. What happened to the plain old english language and being servants of the people? You know what baffles me most? How were our founding fathers able to create such a great country, without the foolishness of todays' politics?

Those are fair questions, Rick. But it has been pretty well proven that the only thing that matters to us is what political party one belongs to. Blacks vote 90%+ Democratic. Hispanics aren't far behind. Unions, at least if you read the verbage of the leadership, is pretty well lock step as well. This is not my opinion, this is fact. And the polarization is worsening. Maybe Dan is right, maybe all Republicans are racist, and maybe that explains it. But as long as we will not waver from our party line thought there isn't much sense in discussing issues. Issues don't matter when minds are made up. I guess that settles that. I'm not sure why the Elephants run a candidate for many of the offices in NY State. Take the Governor's race, why bother? You can't tell me this state can be any more criminally and imcompetently run than it is. Yet there is no competitive race going on for our highest office. Those earlier percentages I mentioned will not change. If I were an Independent or a Republican, and I were to win, I'm not sure I would want the job. Let the Donkeys take responsiblity. But then again with the MSM in their pocket that will never happen. It will always be Pataki's fault. Or was it Thomas E Dewey's? Either way it must have been a Republican's responsibility we're in this mess.
