CSEA members have made concessions in the past. They always get the same old THANK YOU now I want more concessions.. Thankyou no... Time for the elected officals to start making concessions. For instance work at being a senator and assembly person five days a week. Quit your foolish spending. Cut the fat out of Albany.

Concessions by anyone in these tough times, is well... tough and hard to swallow. However, we all have to pull together no matter how painful it is.

Those with a good paying job (Union folks) passing up a raise or bonus or benefit right now while keeping their job is NOT so bad, but not having a job is pretty bad. Unions have to stay strong and at the same time protect their interests; we all know that, but they must give and take in these tough times. Now is the time for leadership. Keep what they have, but don’t ask for more (now).

Albany has to control spending and show some guts, too ... all those projects they dish out to gain votes that we all cheer about when Sen. so and so, or Assemblyperson so and so comes home all smiles handing out checks has to stop, too.

Ooops. Can't touch our "local stuff," like it's free?

CSEA needs to step up to the plate make sacrifices , and be damn glad rhey are still employed . The leadership of that Union are fat cats who add little value to the general welfare of NY citizenry . As a taxpayer i'm sick of their incessant whining . you have jobs a great salaries and bennies , shutt up and get to work

Unions have ruined our auto industry by cannibalizing the businesses that employed thier members until those businesses failed. Read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Unions are socialistic. Socialism is evil.

It is well known that government employees are well paid for thier services, and there are alot of these folks who do earn thier paychecks. However there are at least 25% that do not do much of anything, except whine about doing work, whine about needing pay raises, and whine about anything to do with nothing. These are the folks that are quick to run to the union when someone tells them,"get to work". These are the folks that give the unions a blackeye, demanding union representation when they do not get thier way.Much like the government itself, the unions need to get rid of the dead wood with-in it's membership, including with-in the union leadership.

Amen to that 859. When was the last time you saw Dennis A. swing a hammer or turn a wrench?

The IBEW did fairly well in the Big Wind Fiasco.

Just because they are the IBEW doesn't mean they do not have dead-wood in thier membership. Dead-wood crosses all walks of life and work ethics;dead-wood knows no boundaries.
