Could Democrat turning Republican Steve Levy actually derail the presumptive GOP nominee for Governor ?
Levy...who is County Executive in Suffolk County on the east end of Long Island is a fiscal hawk with many friends in the Republican ranks and more than one of them is now backing Levy....Meanwhile Rick Lazio, who seemed to have the nomination in tow is calling Levy a "rank opportunist."
It won't be easy for Levy, but he does seem to have traction and money....Something Lazio is having trouble finding.

This guy would only change to a Republican to run for Governor..and then somewhat reluctantly...I wonder if there is any connection between Levy and Chris Cox's run for Congress in CD1??That's right just roll over Lazio in the process. Ellis you are the consummate hypocrite.
This is the guy NY should have as governor. He has a great record as Suffolk county Exec, cutting county spending and taxes and extracting concessions from the public employee unions.
He also has a detailed plan to get us out of the budget crisis.
