Eaterties Abound as City Nightlife Prospers

Last night at an AUSA mixer, I had the pleasure of meeting the folks who are opening the Tilted Kilt Restaurant on Arsenal Street. These are ambitious people on a mission and they have already purchased the site of the former Davidson car lot. The franchise restaurant is due to open in late summer.
-Also it looks like Coleman's Corner is close to reopening...The long awaited watering hole and eaterie is next to the Fairgrounds Arena.
-And it appears the new Maggies on the River is doing a brisk business out of the gate and getting good reviews.
The food and beverage industry seems to be holding its own in the city and the investments being made are substantial.
Watertown is a hub for dining and nightlife. That's a good thing.

I live in Ogdensburg and I envy your city life. Possibly you could give the officals in Ogdensburg some tips on how to get businesses interested in opening here. The last few interprises that have considered here have had to jump so many hoops and been treated so badly they reconsidered. We are a city decaying and on the decline. Thats hard to swallow when we sit here sixty miles from you and watch you grown. Our kids have absoutely no future here and nothing to do..Keep up the good work mayor

Kids aren't suppose to be getting drunk and fat.I do think the city of Watertown has done good job with the square and has enticed alot of nice buisness. We need the draw and u no what I am saying,we need a stadium that will bring people from the outside to spend money at these places.LAX is the fastes growing sport in the country and from what ive been told by people who attent on a reguler, the stadiums are packed with people spending money and the hotels and motels fill up.With Canada right next door it would be great for all Esp when there doller is worth the same...

Gee Juston where are all the businesses on the square??? We had a business that was going to draw all sorts of sports here that being Ultimate Goal, it floundered when it realized all the districts in the area with better fields, now the Y has it, off the tax rolls forever.

Watertown business district has it all together. There are plenty of opportunities on the square and along the river. The service industry is running in high gear. I was at the roadhouse last week and had an hour wait before I could be seated. I don’t think so.

Ogdensburg could be like Watertown. Eateries on every corner, real estate values increasing, and the only county to have an increase in population, all we need is a Fort Drum to move into our backyard. Then add another 30,000 troops with their families and BANG you would be the second Watertown.

I can understand why they fought so hard for those 287 jobs at the correctional facility.
