Barclay Calls Hoffman's Comments 'Arrogant'

Doug Hoffman tries to express confidence and Will Barclay calls it "arrogance." Game on as the scramble begins for the GOP nomination for Congress in NY 23. I have to say I would advise a candidate not to speculate what they would do if they lost a primary. It shows weakness and indecision.

..."I have to say I would advise a candidate not to speculate what they would do if they lost a primary. It shows weakness and indecision." I disagree. I think it makes Hoffman look like he's only out for himself, and party loyalty be damned. Oh wait, that is his MO isn't it? Barclay was dead on with his comments.

I agree - kudos to Barclay for abandoning typical politician soft-ball positions and putting a stake in the ground with deliberate and indisputable commentary. That is exactly what I like to see in a politician. His comments on Hoffman, while harsh are right on. Hoffman (and Mike Long) are self promoting fools who put themselves ahead of the cause. that is exactly what I do not like in a politician. Nice work Barclay...you just went up a few notches in my book.

If this is the new Will Barclay, he's got my vote. And he didn't even have to change his hairdo!!!

Barclay will probably get some backlash for his comments, calling him hypocritical and divisive, but I applaud him for taking a stand. For Hoffman to assume he will be the republican nominee is absurd. In my opinion, Barclay and Doheny are far superior candidates than Hoffman (I don't know enough about Maroun to have an educated opinion) and they have many months to prove it. I think it is great that Barclay is more of a republican team player - at the end of the day, the district will be better off with any republican representing them, and he recognizes that.

Your comment endorsing Hoffman's reluctance to support anyone but himself says quite a bit about you. Hey, I am a democrat and I despise the typical and pervasive ultra conservative chant of,"So what if I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm right, everyone else is wrong and to hell with those that disagree with me". Barclay hit the mark and said just what needed to be said. Good for him. Republicans should be proud.

Hoffman put it in writing that he would support Dede. GO Will!!!! Expose Doug for the dishonest puppet that he is!!!!

That's like calling the kettle...

Doheny was a standup guy this past summer and like hoffman said he would support the republican choice during the special election. Unlike Hoffman, he actually stood behind that statement. I am sure he would be equally supportive of the party this time around. Hoffman represents exactly what is wrong with the republican party right now and I will never support him. Good work Barclay for calling him out on Hoffman's lack of integrity and loyalty.

12:17 I'm a Republican and I despise the typical and pervasive ultra liberal chant of I know we're out of money but I don't mind pretending we can print some more. Screw the kids.

Dumb comment.

I have to say I listened to will on the Live @ five with curry and his stance against big wind along with how he is handeling hoffman. Is he trying to step out of his fathers shadow? Its gunna come down to the coin again.I didnt like what hoffman did during the special so agree with Will its about time some one else expressed it that way I have been for months though.Doug gave his word then went against it before he was even elected...A absalute no no

Hoffman rode in on the anti-Scoz wave and he will only drown in this election.

The Barclay's are good folks and no one has done more for this area than Doug Barclay.

Will Barclay treats his constituents well and sincerely cares about our community.

Hoffman should really try moving to the district to see if he likes it before he decides he wants to represent us. There's something to be said for residency. Why doesn't he run in his own district? If Long has so much confidence in his boy, then run him where he lives?

Why is it that Bergdorf looks like he has sewn in hair?
