The report is out on what to do with girlfriend-slashing Senator Hiram Montserrate of Queens. The panel studying Montserrate recommends either expulsion from the Senate or censure with revocation of privileges. Problem is we are in January, on the eve of budget deliberations and Democrats need Montserrate's vote to maintain their 32-30 majority, especially since Majority Leader Pedro Espapda is said to be headed for tough times as well. Wonder what those privileges are he will lose ?

The chances of Monserrate being expelled are somewhere between slim and none. There was no need for a "panel" to investigate him. A jury has already found Monserrate guilty. And how many tax dollars where spent by this panel on things like travel expenses, meals, etc.?
If it comes to a vote, WWDD? Vote to expel the thug, or stick with his NYC bosses and defend a convicted abuser just to retain grip on power?
I have no problem with Sen Montserrate keeping his job. He is the right party and he is working hard for the peeeeple of NYS. He isn't a racist, and he's the right political party. He's working for the peeeeple of NYS. He's a Donkey. Priorities. If the Democrats in the Senate have no problem with slashing up yer girlfriend with a glass, who am I to question such learned men and women? After all, they're the right party, aren't they? This is NY, isn't it? The voters want this, don't they? If we had a Republican in there, I'd bet there's a good chance he/she would have slashed up his boyfriend/girlfriend with a broken glass too. So why go through the trouble of having another election? Vote Donkey.
