The political establishment loves to trash Governor Paterson.
They will insist he doesn't know what he is doing and that the spendthrift state legislature knows best.
Well, Governor Paterson is right when he says the state will be broke by Christmas.
Nobody need listen....just keep up business as usual..

Do what any large American corporation would do. File for bankruptcy, then immediately cut all pensions and health care to retires. Next eliminate unions and health care coverage to the rank and file. Finally put everyone newly hired on part time with no sick or vacation time. Now the NYS government worker will finally be just like a normal working American. Those that still have a job that is.
Thats right those bleepers need a wake up call need to suffer a little to relize how greedy they have been. The gap between the State worker that does very little to the guy in the private sector who does alot for chicken feed.I do not feel one bit sorry for you greedy bastards.D Day is coming to put you on a level playing field sink or swim.I am prepard to swim with knowing how it feels to work hard and still be poor how will they adjust time will tell.........
Juston
I know a lot of state workers who work very very hard and are still underpaid. Accusing all of them of laziness etc is just plain stupid. If you complainers had stayed in school longer and gotten state jobs of your own, you wouldn't be so unhappy now. Go kick the car or something. LOLOLOL!!!!
I know people who have went to school for years joe and don't get payed jack shit. Went full 12 years of grade shool with a little Suny Jefferson under my belt.I move furniture on Fort Drum that's hard work ..not standing around a hole with four guys leaning on a shovel give me your example of hard working please? Is it someone who works for the D.E.C they can all do a little more for a little less.I am sure there is some good people that do work for this great state things are out of hand and they need to be adressed. All the cheifs need to take major pay cut and need to stop double dipping. The state doesn't hire people for there work backround it's who ya know or who ya ....
it's the DD's that cost the most. plus the school systems that blame the teachers unions but have all the administrators and multiple principals etc. and millions for athletic fields. we have too much govt I agree start cutting the no show and patronage jobs, cut the benefits for the parttime town officials, and the others who have access to care already. but eliminating jobs drives up unemployment so then what?
It's all about who you know to get one of them govt. jobs, But on the flip side, Does any elected offical on a state level, (assembly, and senate) offer to take a cut in pay???? a few years ago they were all given raises with no problem, When they retire they will have health care, retirement, look at the St. Lawrence Leg, they all took a pay cut, but kept their health care.
Well put Anon6;51 way to much of self absorbed people not giving back a little.......
Hey 6:34 no didn't we just pay for a "bailout" for all of Wall St.??? So why does a state worker have to give up more?? These CEO's make 20 times what a state worker makes.
9:08 problem is it aint gonna matter. In 4 and half weeks when this state is broke, your pay check will be an iou. Not sayin it is right, it's reality. No private sector people left ot pay for public sector jobs. While you still have a job with great benifits, people that still work and scrap by, without benefits to pay for yours are no longer in the food chain line.
We are all in this together, and you will give in more.
Wonder how much the NYS Troopers had to give up??? Last time I knew their wage was up 14% over 3 years plus OT for funerals.
