Don't pay attention to that ballot.....Even though Diedre Scozzfava has the endorsement of the Independence Party, Jefferson County Chair John Rice today told the Daily News' Liz Benjamin not to vote for her but instead vote for Conservative nominee Doug Hoffman. Rice is a liquor store owner just like NYS Conservative Chair Mike Long used to be for many years......Must be they felt a bond.

I am sorry I think as Chairmen he is breaking the rules of our party and I am going to ask him to be removed from the committee. He has a duty to support the candidate on the Indy line. Jeff you know the rules of the party committee and should be asking for his removal.

This is disappointing. I can understand the Conservative Party endorsing a ninth-string Republican who has little or no knowledge of local issues but I thought Independents had higher standards than this.
It's a shame that, if she is losing, it's because she's the only one who has run an honest, no frills campaign on her greater knowledge of the issues. How pathetic that voters would allow the other two to buy this election with outside money and celebrity endorsements.
Shame on you, Jefferson County Independent Party. You're supposed to make a principled stand for the candidate who is the best on the issues, not live up to the stereotype of Independents being fairweather allies of the person with best poll numbers.
Oh well, right? Enjoy your free concert. Maybe Doug Hoffman will introduce you to Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck while you're there. Turncoats.
Rice said his committee voted to endorse Scozzafava back before Hoffman was really a player in the race.
But now that the members (all but Watertown Mayor Jeff Graham, who, according to Rice, is remaining personally neutral) have seen more of Hoffman, they've decided he's "a much better choice."
Rice says Graham is "neutral." How should we play old tapes of the Hotline show to show how "neutral" Graham really is?

John Rice did not come up with this on His own. Jeff "Fairweather Friend" Grahams fingerprints are all over this sudden change in support.Just ask Newzjunky Who tipped Him off.
Ok so if the whole committee voted they all need to be removed. Jeff changes his mind everytime the wind blowers. he wants the winner to think he was behind him instead of standing up, having some balls and supporting who he thinks is best. Win or lose. Just remember you will be looking for support when you have to run again.
So they could changed their minds on all the candidates they've endorsed??
