-In the wacky world that is the 23rd CD , the New York State United Teachers has endorsed Republican Diedre Scozzafava based on her support for card check and her liberal stand on social issues, presumably gay marriage and abortion. It also indicates the Democrat, who is endorsed by the Working Families Party, will not get universal support from the unions.
-Doug Hoffman for Congress signs are cropping up in the City of Watertown, as local GOP elected offcials privately are worried about trouble in the Scozzafava campaign. One high ranking elected official said his offers to help were met with unreturned calls.
-TV 50's John Moore, now the dean of North Country broadcasters, hinted today there may indeed be a Congressional Debate on his station, WWTI. He said details are not yet firm and would not say if it would be a live event. An effort by Time Warner to stage a debate was met by claims of schedule conflict by Democrat Bill Owens, who as the best funded candidate has the least to gain by the media actually doing their job.
-On the Hotline today, I broached the off limits topic of this campaign. Do we want our next Member of Congress coming from so far away that they can see Vermont from their porch ? That's the issue that Scozzafava can win on, since its clear the other side has far more money and organization.
-Watch for falling acorns....Operatives for the Working Families Party will be in the district soon to start canvassing and phoning on behalf of Bill Owens.

I hate teachers and teachers unions and so do you. Fess up. we have talked about it. Teachers union endorsement is the end of liberal Dede. Republicans made a big mistake. They hate teachers and unions, too.
Wow this is big,I don't care how much spin u put on this one.She is running a great camp and will end up winning this election. Some times when not much is said and behind the scene things are taking place.I think the NYSUT better open ther wallets and call up channel 7 lets get the news out De De is for EDUCATION.Mr Richard C Iannuzzi I would have to say after being not very happy with your record of paying attention to north country schools and or are teachers good choice...

Don't get too excited about a teacher union endorsement. Teachers think for themselves and vote for themselves. The Union PACs are quite independent from local teacher issues and they have little influence over how an educator actually votes. Educators are as diversified as the subject matter they present and their voting block will parallel their diversity.
Anon. #1 your feelings are not that unusual. When friends address me or speak of me they call me by name. Actually real friends don't even care what I was in the past. But, when the teacher haters refer to me, they call me that retired teacher from Cape Vincent. It is obvious. I guess it has something to do with what we fought for and won as a labor group back in the 50's. Those benefits continue as retirement and other benefit promises make up for the unwillingness of society to pay for our services. Our hard work payed off and we never fell sucker to the anti-labor movement.
Yeah but how much more can the folks who make 25K pay for the 100k crowd?
maybe the 25k folks shoulda hated the teachers less and paid attention more in school. kids do what their parents do. look what happened.
