Is the AP taking a swipe at the Obamas by reporting on the clothes Mrs Obama wore while on Air Force One ?......Perhaps the days of First Ladies in perpetual high fashion are over in the Age of Obama.....Perhaps its a refreshing change from a stilted and phony past....or is it a slight to the high office ?
Many of our readers have commented it was wrong of the AP to report on the matter or for that matter take a picture....What do you think. ?
The Associated Press: CAPITAL CULTURE: Michelle Obama's shorts flap

Remember when people would dress up for an airplane trip....Even common folks........
well, guess what! people don't do that any more! i can't believe anyone would be so shallow as to give two craps about what people are wearing in the oval office or on air force one.
I don't give a crap, either thrush. So, I had to take the opportunity to rag on Jeff with this post on Jefferson's Leaning Left.
Should the Mayor of Watertown wear a suit at important functions?
Hey Hermit.....Take up your complaint about shallow with the Associated Press.
And what is it about you anonymous commenters (Wiley excepted) who turn every topic into a personal attack....
I would invite you to appear live on the Hotline anytime you feel your views need a wider audience.

I for one am glad those days are gone forever and i'm 66 .
just because AP does a story doesn't mean you have to

Fashion news? Um... what's next = the two wars were hundreds die daily? Nope - we're used to that "old" news... we need some hot stuff (no pun intended)... short shorts will do just fine.
BTW: Mrs. Obama's legs are not pretty - not at all. IMHO.
Hey why are you removing comments. I wanted to respond to them. What gives?
All she needs now is a bottle of malt liquor, and a bucket of chicken.
now we have a censored mayor's blog. Gag me!! It's the American Way on the Right of Center!!!
dear mayor,
i'm sorry if you found my comment to be a personal attack. i didn't intend it as one -- though looking back, i think i did let my language get a bit overheated -- so let me clarify.
i know basically very little about you or your views, so i certainly don't mean to assert that you're a shallow person. but yes, i do think it's an instance of pretty serious shallowness to be upset by the first lady wearing shorts on af1 (especially when on her way to vacation) or by men taking off their jackets in the oval office. you apparently disagree, and that's fine! but if you're going to allow comments, then you're going to invite disagreement.
and on that note: it's your blog and you can do whatever you want about the comments. but i think it's extremely poor etiquette to delete people's comments (except for ones you judge to be patently offensive, of course). and it's even worse to delete entire posts of yours after people have started commenting on them. again, you're totally free to do as you please in these matters, but it's something to think about.
Some of the things the current First Lady said during the campaign definately didn't endear her to me, but for crying out loud, so the lady wore shorts on vacation. Good greif! Is the media so hard up for material that they gotta make a fuss about the First Lady wearing shorts? They weren't even funky everyday shorts, they were dress shorts to boot!
